IPL The Final Betting Tips
Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans
Narendra Modi Stadium, Monday 12am (AEST)
Chennai Super Kings
The Super Kings caused an upset in the 1st qualifier, defeating the Titans by 15 runs on the back of solid knocks from openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway. Superstar all-rounder Ravi Jadeja was at his brilliant best with the ball, taking 2/18 off four overs to limit the Titans in their chase.
It’s unlikely the Super Kings will make any changes to their side in the lead up to the big game. Their batting line-up looks rock solid with the two hard hitting openers supported by Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Shivan Dube and skipper M.S. Dhoni. They are missing some key pieces in the bowling department, with Kuyle Jamieson and Ben Stokes unavailable, but have pieced together a strong attack led by
Predicted XII: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Shivam Dube, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Ravi Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, Maheesh Theekshana, Matheesha Pathirana
Gujarat Titans
The Titans bounced back from their loss in the first qualifier with a dominant victory over the Mumbai Indians in their follow up playoff game to set up a rematch with the Super Kings. They were led by star opening batsman Shubman Gill, who blasted 129 off just 60 balls to lead the Titans to a huge 1st inning total of 3/233.
In reply, the Indians batted well but still fell a whopping 62 runs short of the total. A five wicket haul from Mohit Sharma was the catalyst in the 2nd innings for the TItans, while Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami both chipped in for two wickets each.
With that dominant win, it’s hard to see the Titans making any changes either, especially given the luxury of the impact player sub rule in 2023.
Predicted XII: Wriddhiman Saha, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, Vijay Shankur, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Mohit Sharma, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami, Joshua Little
Match Prediction
Tough game to call here. The Super Kings will be full of confidence after the win over the Titans earlier in the week but Gujarat have been the best side in the competition all year and have talent all over the park. In saying that, there is a lot of pressure on the wait of opener Shubman Gill here. Their batting line-up can sometimes look a little thin if he doesn’t get going at the top of the order, especially given international David Miller is in a bit of a form slump.
The Kings don’t rely on any one player to get the job done, and captain MS Dhoni has proven himself as a master technician and a brilliant clutch performer time and time again in these big IPL games. I think CSK should be slight favourites here so I’m very happy with the value being offered at $1.90.
