Champions League Semi Finals (Leg 2) Betting Tips
Inter Milan vs AC Milan
Wednesday 5am (AEST)
As we predicted at good odds of $2.45 last week, Inter Milan were too good in the 1st leg, capturing a 2-0 win away from home to put themselves in a commanding position heading into the 2nd leg on Wednesday morning. The three time champions will now only need a 1 goal loss or better to book their ticket into the final, which is a great prospect as they have been fantastic at home during the Serie A season.
Inter Milan have a 13-0-5 at home in the domestic competition this season and when they faced off against AC Milan at home earlier in the year they recorded a 1-0 win. They have won their last three in a row at San Siro Stadium, all over decent opposition in Juventus, Lazio and Sassuolo.
Inter start as firm favourites to get the win on Wednesday morning and almost unbackable favourites to advance through to the final. I think the draw represents good value in this clash though. Inter won’t exactly be playing their most aggressive style of football given a 1 goal loss would see them advance. I think they keep it pretty defensive here, meaning a 0-0 or 1-1 draw is on the cards.
Manchester City vs Real Madrid
Thursday 5am (AEST)
The main event of the week sees Manchester City hosting Real Madrid on Thursday morning. The two teams drew 1-1 in the opening leg, setting up what should be an absolute thriller at the Etihad Stadium from 5am.
Real Madrid are fully fit heading into this clash while Manchester City will have only Benjamin Mendy on the sidelines. The English side have been near perfect at home in the Premier League this season, maintaining a 16-1-1 record with a ridiculous +42 goal difference at Etihad.
Manchester City start as strong $1.57 favourites at home, and rightfully so given the stats mentioned above. I like the value of Real Madrid to sneak into the final here. There’s no doubt that Manchester City are the more talented and in form side here, but the $3.50 for Real Madrid to qualify is just too good considering they are one of the best sides in the world and have a chance at qualifying with just a draw.
