The Sea Eagles take on the Broncos in what will be a big game for both teams, with the Sea Eagles trying to regain the form that saw them take down the Storm 3 weeks ago, whilst the Broncos are aiming to prove that their last up loss to the Rabbitohs was just an aberration. Either way, with only 2 points separating 2nd through 11th, these games are all important.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Brisbane Broncos
Suncorp Stadium, Friday 5th May, 8:05pm (AEST)
The Sea Eagles came into their round 9 matchup with the Titans as big favourites, closing 6.5-point favourites. After a back-and-forth opening 20 minutes, the Titans took control of the game, leading 16-2 at the half. A short-lived comeback saw the Sea Eagles get within 6, but two late tries for the Titans put it beyond doubt.
The Broncos put up by far their worst performance of the season, losing to the Rabbitohs at home 32-6. It was 6-all up until shortly before half-time, before a Campbell Graham try broke the deadlock. 4 unanswered second half try saw the Rabbitohs cruise home, and the Broncos searching for answers. The returns of Payne Haas and Ezra Mam should be massive this week, and they were sorely missed last week.
Boy, this number has moved quite a bit since open, with the Broncos 7.5-point favourites before losing to the Rabbitohs last week. They have been bet out to 11.5-point favourites at the time of writing, which seems excessive. The issue is, there is so much news coming out about issues at the Sea Eagles, that it’s hard to get excited about them.
The Broncos have been double digit favourites on 4 occasions so far this season, and they have managed to cover the number twice. This shows they are able to cover large spreads, so I have no trouble backing them in this regard. On the other side, the Sea Eagles have been 10+ point dogs once, against the Panthers, and they were utterly destroyed 44-12. With so much negativity around the Sea Eagles right now, I like the Broncos to get it done easily here. Unfortunately, we aren’t getting the best number, but I’ll take them to win 13+.
Looking at the total, it looks spot on to me. The unders have been the go this year, hitting on 55.6% of the time. The Sea Eagles have also been an unders team, hitting the under on 62.5% of the time. But I’m just a little concerned that the Broncos put up a big score, so not bet on the total in this one.
Brisbane Broncos 13+
