EPL 2022-23: Matchday 27 Preview & Betting Tips
Bournemouth vs Liverpool
Vitality Stadium, Saturday 11th March, 11:30pm AEDT
Liverpool travel to the Vitality Stadium, within touching distance of the top four for the first time this season. After a horror season, Liverpool have produced a stunning period of form that has brought life back into their Premier League campaign. From their last five games the Reds have four wins and a draw, scoring 13 goals in their unbeaten run. The headline performance was last week’s 7-0 annihilation of Manchester United, which has seen Liverpool move up into fifth place.
Bournemouth suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat against Arsenal last week, with the Cherries having a golden opportunity to beat the league leaders and get themselves out of the relegation zone after leading 2-0. However, three goals in the final half hour, including a 97th minute winner from Reiss Nelson saw Bournemouth fall to the bottom of the Premier League. Bournemouth have the worst defence in the Premier League having conceded a league high 51 goals, and they’re coming up against one of the most inform attacking sides in the league, who put nine goals past them earlier in the season.
Liverpool’s record in the Premier League against Bournemouth is nothing short of dominant. The Reds have a 9-1-1 record against the Cherries, with an aggregate score of 36-8 across those eleven games, including the infamous 9-0 result at Anfield earlier this season. Last week’s defeat to Arsenal would have taken a lot out of Bournemouth from an emotional standpoint, and it’s going to be a tough prospect to bounce back against a side that completely has their number. Jurgen Klopp’s side are in form at the moment, and are going to produce another convincing win.

Everton vs Brentford
Goodison Park, Sunday 12th March, 2:00am AEDT
Everton will be looking to climb out of the relegation zone when they host Brentford on Sunday morning. In their second season in the Premier League Brentford have been impressive, sitting in ninth place, going unbeaten in their last twelve games. The Toffees are eighteenth, and since November they have a 2-2-9 record. Despite their terrible form, Everton are only two points away from Leicester in fifteenth place.
Everton have struggled at both ends of the pitch this season, ranking 19th for scoring (20 goals scored) and having the fifteenth ranked defence (38 goals conceded). Highlighting the Toffees’ attacking struggles, they’ve scored only two goals in their last seven games. That form doesn’t stack up against a disciplined Brentford side that has shown great reliability on both sides of the ball.
At $2.80 in the midst of a twelve-game unbeaten run, coming up against a side in the relegation zone, Brentford provide excellent value in this fixture. In the three Premier League clashes between these two clubs, Brentford have two wins and a draw. Brentford’s unbeaten streak has included wins over Manchester City and Liverpool, as well as draws against Arsenal and Tottenham. Brentford have been excellent over the last few months, and will continue their form against Everton.

Fulham vs Arsenal
Craven Cottage, Monday 13th March 1:00am AEDT
Arsenal overcame a 2-0 deficit to overrun Bournemouth 3-2, to maintain their five point lead at the top of the Premier League table. It was a gripping performance that typifies a champion team, with the Gunners capping off the comeback with a 97th minute winner from Reiss Nelson. Arsenal will be looking to keep their stranglehold on top spot when they take on fellow London side Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Fulham lost to Brentford 3-2 on Tuesday in an entertaining encounter, in what was a missed opportunity to move into sixth place on the table. The Gunners have won four games in a row, and their attacking game has been at its absolute best since their 3-1 defeat against Manchester City in February. Arsenal have scored twelve goals from their last four games, and it looms as a massive challenge for Fulham to contain the league leaders.
The Gunners have well and truly had the wood over Fulham, winning eight of their last nine Premier League fixtures against Fulham. Arsenal haven’t lost to Fulham in the Premier League since 2012, and with Mikel Arteta’s men continuing to find a way to produce results, it’s difficult to see the Gunners falling away. It’s a massive all London clash, and Arsenal will keep their breathing space at the top of the Premier League.
Arsenal -1

More EPL Matchday 27 Tips
Leeds vs Brighton (Sunday 2am AEDT)
The Seagulls returned to form with a resounding 4-0 thrashing of West Ham last weekend. They avoided back-to-back defeats once again and have only lost two in a row once this campaign. The Gulls now find themselves up against a struggling Leeds outfit, and they should be able to get the better of them on current form.

Leicester vs Chelsea (Sunday 2am AEDT)
Chelsea haven’t been setting the world on fire in recent weeks but they’ve certainly improved their performance. They were able to get past a tricky Dortmund side in the Champions League midweek to back up a strong 1-0 win over Leicester in the EPL. This version of Chelsea should be able to negotiate a win against the Foxes who have lost three on the spin.

Tottenham vs Nottingham (Sunday 2am AEDT)
Tottenham had won four of their last five EPL matches when they headed to the Molineux last weekend, but couldn’t recreate their hot form against the Wolves in a 1-0 defeat. To add insult to injury, the Spurs were also knocked out of the Champions League midweek when failing against AC Milan. It’s fair to see spirits will be low in the Spurs locker room at the moment, which will give some encouragement to Forest who have been exceeding expectations of late. The Visitors can certainly pinch a point or three in this one, but we’ll settle with both teams to score instead.
Both Teams to Score ($1.96 at Ladbrokes)
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City (Sunday 4:30am AEDT)
Manchester City continued their hot form with a professional 2-0 win over Newcastle last weekend. They’ve now picked up 13 points from a possible 15 in their last five games and continue to put the pressure on the Gunners up top. The Citizens now take on Palace who haven’t won a league game in 2023, so it’s fair to say that City should be winning this one comfortably.
Manchester City -1.5 ($2.06 at Betr)
Manchester United vs Southampton (Monday 1am AEDT)
How will the Red Devils respond from their utterly humiliating defeat against Liverpool last weekend? That’s the question that will be answered on Sunday night. Fortunately, they come up against a Southampton side who sit 19th on the league table. However, there isn’t any value in the head-to-head market here, but taking Over 2.5 Goals looks to be the way to go considering there have been 24 goals scored in United’s last six league matches.
Over 2.5 Goals ($1.60 at Neds)
West Ham vs Aston Villa (Monday 1am AEDT)
What version of West Ham will we see this weekend? The Hammers have traded 4-0 results in their last two league matches and now host Aston Villa who have won two on the spin. The Hammers inconsistency makes them a nightmare team to bet on or against, although there is some value in the Over 2.5 Goals market considering there’s been eight goals scored in their last two matches.
Over 2.5 Goals ($2.04 at Ladbrokes)
Newcastle vs Wolves (Monday 3:30am AEDT)
The Wolves have been a vastly improved side since the turn of the new year but will face a very tough test in Matchday 27 when they travel to take on Newcastle. The Magpies, who are riding a season-high two-game losing streak, will be desperate to turn things around this weekend. They will have to perform a lot better than in recent weeks, but they should still be able to find a way to win against the Wolves.
Newcastle to Win ($1.66 at Neds)
