NBA Betting Tips: Wednesday, 16th November
New York Knicks at Utah Jazz
Vivint Arena, 1pm AEDT
The Knicks ($2.60) have been slow starters this season and will hit the road on Wednesday to take on the Jazz ($1.50) who have surprised us all with their high level of play.
Despite being at home against a team in obvious rebuild mode, the Knicks put their hat in the ring for worst defensive performance of the season against OKC last start. They gave up a stupendous 145 points en route to their sixth loss from their past nine outings.
Alarmingly, the Knicks are yet to keep a single team under 100 points this campaign and they certainly won’t achieve that feat anytime soon going off recent performances.
Meanwhile, the Jazz are coming off a couple of losses of their own, but both were on the road and by less than 10 points, so there are now alarm bells in Utah just yet.
In fact, the Jazz have been one of the most surprising teams this season with their consistently strong performances. They’ve already secured 10 wins this campaign, which is the equal second most in the league.
The Jazz return to their home floor where they’re a perfect 5-0 this season, while the Knicks are 2-4 on their travels. This brings me to my best bet of the day, which is for the Jazz to cover the small spread.
Utah Jazz -3.5

Brooklyn Nets at Sacramento Kings
Golden 1 Center, 2pm AEDT
The Nets ($2.06) will continue their road trip when they travel to Sacramento to take on a Kings ($1.80) outfit that has found their footing in season 2022-23.
The Nets have managed to go 4-2 since Kyrie Irving was suspended, although their recent loss against the Lakers was a tough one considering the Lakers were sporting a 2-10 record at the time.
Kevin Durant continues to lead the way on offence and is averaging splits of 31/7/5, but the lack of help around him is certainly noticeable at all times.
In contrast, the Kings are on an upward trajectory after a horror 0-4 start to their season. They enter this slate having won six of their past eight games and are now an even 6-6 on the ledger.
De’Aaron Fox is leading the way for the Kings with career-high numbers across the board. However, he’s certainly flourishing with a lot more help around him than in previous campaigns.
Both teams have been ticking over the win column in recent weeks, but the Kings have certainly been the more consistent and impressive of the two. I expect them to get the better of the Nets at home on this occasion.

San Antonio Spurs at Portland Trail Blazers
Moda Center, 2pm AEDT
The tough schedule for the Spurs ($3.66) continues on Wednesday when they take on one of the surprise packets of the season in the Trail Blazers ($1.29).
The Spurs got off to a surprising 5-2 start but have quickly regressed to a standard we more or less expected from them. They’ve lost six of their last seven and were smacked by 37 points by the Warriors on Tuesday.
On the other hand, the Trail Blazers have are flying this season with superstar Damian Lillard back in the locker room. They’ve won nine of their 13 games to date despite a loss last time out against the Mavericks.
The Spurs have had recent success in this matchup, but the makeup of both squads is totally different this time around, so previous results will have little to no bearing on the outcome on Wednesday.
The Trail Blazers are by far the better outfit on this occasion and being on their home floor only increases their chances of winning. I expect them to take care of the Spurs.
Portland Trail Blazers -7.5
