Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday August 27th
Race 2
(5) Lady of Honour was just fair when seventh first up over 1200m at Caulfield but being second up here i think she is a big improver after winning second up last prep. She won a recent jumpout impressively at Caulfield on a Heavy 8 so the surface shouldn't worry her. Jake Noonan gets the ride and she will appreciate only carrying 54kg.
(7) Saigon for Chris Waller hasn't won in her last 10 starts but she is better than that. She is first up in this and is predicted to run well.
(8) Groovy Kinda Love should get a nice run in transit from barrier two.
(3) Megamea is consistent and although not as talented as some others in this race is suited by the 1400m.

Race 3
(3) Polanco is better than recent form suggests and its probably his last chance here before going out for a spell. He goes well on Soft and Heavy ground and hasn't been beaten too far his last four starts. Last start was just okay when seventh at Caulfield but again was only beaten 2.5L, his biggest losing margin in his last four runs. He will be big odds and he is worth a small wager.
(11) El Rocko is two from two on the Heavy and he does like this distance.
(13) Attractable will likely settle on speed and will be there when the whips are cracking.
(7) Pascero was scratched last week and his two efforts since a freshen up were better than the formguide reads.
(12) Home Rule has won two of four starts on Heavy ground.
(3) Polanco (Place)
$7 (2 Units)
Race 7
(7) Passive Aggressive looks to be a length or two better than these i reckon. She won well in a recent trial at Cranbourne on a Heavy 9 surface and Graheme Begg will have her primed for this. From barrier six she will settle approximately one out, one back (fourth) and should be strong to the line. Big chance she picks up a nice race in the Spring too.
(8) Isotope has Damien Oliver on top and does go well first up. She has won four of 10 and she will pick one up along the way in the Spring also.
(1) Graceful Girl does have to carry 60kg but is better than a lot of these.
(11) Chain of Lightning will charge home late and if the speed is on is a big chance for the Peter Moody/Jamie Kah combination.
(7) Passive Aggressive
$2.60 (3 Units)
Race 8
(11) Illation is unbeaten and from barrier 13 will try to sneak in around the midfield area for Jamie Kah. A few of her rivals are obviously better racehorses but many have bigger fish to fry in about two months time and may not be pushed out to the maximum. He is first up but trialed nicely for a win on Heavy ground in front of I’m Thunderstruck who is obviously very talented.
(14) Snapdancer will settle on pace and with a lot of her competitors being back markers, she may be able to skip a couple of lengths clear down the straight. She goes better early on in her campaigns but a concern is that she is untried on the Heavy. Each-way is the play.
(12) Tofane can handle the ground and has won four Group 1 races so he just has to be included.
(1) I’m Thunderstruck returns from NSW racing and is first up for a big campaign. He has eyes on bigger prizes in a few weeks time but should run on well at the end.
