Day 4 features some star horses and some big fields to navigate through as the 2022 Royal Ascot Carnival continues on Friday. It's been a fun week so far, with plenty of great winners, so we're looking to continue that momentum into the weekend racing action.

2022 Royal Ascot Betting Tips - Day 4
Race 1 - Albany Stakes (Fillies' Group 3) - 11:30pm AEST
Plenty of big fields today with 18 runners going in the opener, the Albany Stakes on Day 4. Plenty of these fillies have had winning starts including Elvenia, Mawj and Queen Olly who all deserve a mention but the one I want to concentrate on in this is MEDITATE. This speedy No Nay Never filly has won both her starts for trainer Aidan O’Brien including mostly recently in a Group 3 at Naas. She has a brilliant chance in this. Aidan had another big winner yesterday and Meditate’s jockey Ryan Moore had a great day too with 2 wins (Gold Cup and Britannia Stakes). The dream team can take this.
Race 2 - Commonwealth Cup (Group 1) - 12:05am AEST
20 runners take part in this years Commonwealth Cup. The absolute stand out horse in this is the Karl Burke trained EL CABALLO who since his debut at Doncaster (come 2nd) has gone on to win every race since, recently landing the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes at my local track Haydock Park. He beat Flaming Rib (runs in this) that day. He’s an ultraprogressive horse. Another horse that El Caballo has beat is Tiber Flow (who runs in this) although was only beat by a short head that day at Newcastle on the All Weather in the 3yo All Weather Championships race. With headgear on he is a danger to El Caballo once again. Another to mention is Twilight Jet, already a Group 3 winner over in Ireland and the UK and steps up to Group 1 level again here.
Race 3 - Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes - 12:40am AEST
Frankie Dettori had a day he’d like to forget yesterday but could make amends today on the John and Thady Gosden trained Trawlerman. The Queen also had a disappointing day yesterday with her runners, coming real close with 2 runners. In this she has Just Fine trained by Sir Michael Stoute. Might we see a Royal winner? Another horse that has won at Haydock Park on his last start is CONTACT, winning a 1m 4f handicap that day – before this won at Newmarket. He goes for a hattrick today and has a good chance of getting it. Moktasaab is also worth a mention at bigger odds.
Race 4 - Coronation Stakes (Fillies' Group 1) - 1:20am AEST
Some nice fillies in this starting with the George Boughey trained Cachet, George got his first ever Royal Ascot winner yesterday and could add another today with this filly. She held on to win the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket at the start of May and nearly won the French version (Emirates Poule d'Essai des Pouliches – Group 1) at Longchamp on the 15th May, beaten a head that day. This brings us on to the winner of that race MANGOUSTINE who has a great record (111-31) only being beat once in her career so far. Looking up race records the French actually have a good record in this race, winning it 5 times since the year 2000. Trainer Francis-Henri Graffard with the most recent winner Watch Me in 2019. I think the French can take this today. US trained horses have not done so well so far at Royal Ascot this year and this could change with the Christophe Clement trained Pizza Bianca. She won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar last year and a recent win at Pimlico should set her up nicely for this. Although the fact the US horses are not doing well is a worry. Of the others the unbeaten Inspiral gets a serious mention for John and Thady Gosden. Sandrine also with a chance.
Race 5 - Sandringham Stakes (Fillies' Handicap) - 2:00am AEST
A big field of 29 runners take part in the Sandringham. The Richard Hannon trained Heredia is 3 from 3 so far. She jumps up in trip to the mile from 7f and could go close. Hayley Turner has won this race back in 2019 and 2020 for trainer Charlie Fellowes who runs Fresh Hope, she could go very well at decent odds. WASHRAA has recently won 2 handicap races (at Wolverhampton and Nottingham) although they were in smaller fields. This Ribchester filly is an improver and could bag this race at tasty odds. Like Eddie’s Boy the other day go for the each-way if you’re not feeling brave.
Race 6 - King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2) - 2:35am AEST
Moore and O’Brien team up with Changingoftheguard who was last seen coming 5th in the Epsom Derby, before this he won the Group 3 Chester Vase at the Chester May Festival winning comfortably that day. He has a serious chance for Team Ballydoyle. The main danger to Changingoftheguard is OTTOMAN FLEET for Godolphin, up in trip he looks a hot contender for the boys in blue with Will Buick up top. He didn’t get a great start in a recent Listed race at Newmarket (stumbled badly at the start) but still went on to win the race that day by ½ length. He looks to be a serious chance for his trainer Charlie Appleby. I must also mention Lysander for William Haggas who should run well with Aussie Tom (Marquand) onboard.
Race 7 - Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes - 3:10am AEST
The last race of the day with a big field of runners. I like the look of the Irish trained runner LADIES CHURCH. She has a good 2yo record (in Listed and Group 3 races) and was last seen coming 2nd in the Listed Polonia Stakes at Cork in May. On handicap debut she should go close at decent odds. Korker is another horse with a big chance for Karl Burke (trainer won this race last year). Also, worth taking a look at Shamlaan and Loves Me Likearock (returns back to 5f from 6f) too.
