The UFC heads to Las Vegas, Nevada for this weekend’s Fight Night card which is headlined by the women’s Strawweight division’s most destructive knockout artists as Amanda Lemos and Jessica Andrade go head-to-head.
In the co-main the old dog Clay Guida meets the rising contender Claudio Puelles and Maycee Barber makes her return to the Octagon against Montana De La Rosa. Below we take a look at my main event pick, an undercard multi and one other bet on the undercard.
UFC Fight Night Betting Tips
Amanda Lemos vs Jessica Andrade
There are not many women’s fights which you go into expecting a finish but this fight fits that rare bill. In their combined 33 victories, 16 have come by the way of finish.
Jessica Andrade moved down to Flyweight after losing her title and then losing to Rose Namajunas. After a 2-1 run at Flyweight, with her only loss coming at the hands of Valentina Shevchenko she moves back up to Strawweight for this clash.
Amanda Lemos has shown she is a problem at Strawweight but this is a massive step up in competition. In saying that I just don’t see her being able to stop Andrade and do not know how she will manage the power discrepancy. The Brazilian went 0 from 7 on takedown attempts against Angela Hill and Andrade appears to have the punching power advantage and the wrestling advantage.
Expect Andrade to overwhelm her Brazilian counterpart and show just how good she really is.
Undercard Multi
Aori Qileng + Tyson Pedro
I’m keeping this short and sweet. Aori Qileng may not have an Octagon win yet but he is a capable fighter who takes on Cameron Else who has nothing more than a submission win over Paddy Pimblett in 2013. Expect a one-sided contest where his volume and versatility overwhelms his foe.
Pair him in a multi with the Aussie and we have decent odds. Tyson Pedro wins this 99/100. Pedro may be coming into this off knee surgeries but he has an enormous class edge and I expect him to finish Villanueva who has been knocked out in four of his last five fights rather quickly.
Marcin Prachnio vs Philipe Lins
Three consecutive first-round knockout losses left Marcin Prachnio’s UFC career on the brink but since has beaten Khalil Rountree and Ike Villanueva to keep fighting in the premier organisation, for now.
His opponent Philipe Lins has had his last six booked fights fall through and returns to the Octagon this weekend off of a two-year hiatus. Luckily for him though Prachnio is a friendly match up and one he should dominate.
I don’t think win or lose I ever see Prachnio not get completely rocked in a fight and that is bad news against a hard hitting Lins.
While Lins is far from a top prospect, he hits like a truck and now in a lower weight division will only accentuate the power discrepancy here. Take Lins all day at underdog odds.
