Match Preview
The second match on Good Friday heads out to western Sydney, with the Panthers hosting the Broncos. After an earlier start to the first match, NRL fans have a little longer to prepare for the traditional kick off time. It’s the perfect time to grab something to eat and read this NRL betting preview to turn this day into a great Friday.
The Panthers sit at the top of the competition ladder, undefeated and rarely troubled in their 32-12 victory over the Bulldogs last Sunday. The return of Cleary has only strengthened their team and they were in 2-gear for most of that match. The Broncos have still only won 2 matches this year but they appeared to be an improved team last week in their 24-20 loss to the Roosters.
Expected to struggle, the Broncos made their opponents produce something special to grab victory. As good as that performance was, they will need to lift to another level altogether if they are to be competitive here.
The Broncos looked out of their depth here. While impressive last week, the Panthers are a team which will capitalise on the errors of their opponents and seldom commit their own. If they do, they will counterattack at the next available opportunity. The task of winning this game was made more difficult for the visitors when Payne Haas (suspension) was ruled out.To win, they will need to take the game to the Panthers in the forwards and they appeared stretched even with him taking the field.
The Panthers execute to a high standard and will look to expose the Broncos weaknesses. Performances like Staggs’ last week is unlikely to be allowed by the home team. As good as their attack is at producing points, their defensive structure is to be admired. Such is the difference between both sides, finding value is a difficult exercise. The best option over the course of this match may rest in the exotics.
