The BBL11 action continues on Tuesday night as the Sydney Thunder take on the Perth Scorchers from Manuka Oval in Canberra. As always, Mr. Cricket has you covered with his full preview and betting tips for the clash below.
BBL11 Thunder vs Scorchers Betting Tips
Manuka Oval, Tuesday 28th December, 7.15pm (AEDT)
Sydney Thunder
Predicted XI: Alex Hales, Matthew Gilkes, Jason Sangha, Sam Billings, Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, Ben Cutting, Nathan McAndrew, Chris Green, Saqib Mahmood, Tanveer Sangha
The Thunder went down to the Sixers in a rain affected game on Sunday night and will be looking to bounce back with a win against the undefeated Scorchers. Their line-up looks pretty set at the moment, with the only possible change we could see occurring being English paceman Saqib Mahmood being dropped for new signing Muhammad Hasnain.
Mahmood wasn’t fantastic in the loss to the Sixers, and with other international players in Alex Hales and Sam Billings virtual locks to keep their place, Mahmood would have to make way if they wanted to play the Pakistani paceman.
Perth Scorchers
Predicted XI: Cameron Bancroft, Josh Inglis, Mitch Marsh, Colin Munro, Ashton Turner, Laurie Evans, Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Peter Hatzoglou, Tymal Mills
The Scorchers train continued to roll on Sunday night as they downed the Renegades by eight wickets to move to 6-0 on the season so far. They have barely put a foot wrong all season and the form of all-rounder Mitch Marsh is something else at the moment.
The Scorchers only concern is the fitness of Kurtis Patterson, who missed the win over the Renegades, but his replacement in Cameron Bancroft is more than capable.
Match Prediction
Hard to bet against the Scorchers at the moment, regardless of who they are coming up against. They are $1.73 favourites on the road, and I’ll be honest, I thought they would open shorter than that.
They have the most in-form white ball player in the world at the moment in Mitch Marsh, who just can’t seem to miss, and their bowling attack is also firing on all cylinders. I think there is still enough meat left on the bone here to get some value out of the Scorchers, who claimed a 17 run win the last time these two teams met.
Same Game Multi
Mitch Marsh has batted four times this season, in those four innings, he has amassed scores of 100*, 21, 86 and 42* for a total of 207 runs at an average of 103.5. As we mentioned above, he is the in-form white ball player in the world at the moment, and we have no doubt that his auction price in the upcoming IPL will reflect that. Can’t seem to do a thing wrong with bat in hand at the moment and should continue to fire.
The Scorchers have cruised past 145 in all six of their games this season. Batting first, it’s an absolute certainty that this team clears the 145 run mark. Batting 2nd, the chances are still extremely high as the Thunder have also cruised past this total any time they have batted first this season.
As always, the final leg of our multi will be the first dismissal of the game to be caught. At the time of writing this article, 21 matches have been plated in the BBL11 season, and this bet has saluted 17/21 times.
