BBL11 Hurricanes vs Strikers Betting Tips

Hobart Hurricanes
Predicted XI: Matthew Wade, Ben McDermott, D’Arcy Short, Peter Handscomb, Harry Brook, Tim David, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Tom Rogers, Riley Meredith, Sandeep Lamichhane
The Cane train finally left the station on Christmas Eve as they picked up their 2nd win of the season against the Stars down at Blundstone Arena. They’ll be at home once again on Monday night and will be looking to move to 3-3 on the season and put pressure on the breakaway top two in the Scorchers and Sixers.
At the time of writing, the Canes haven’t yet posted their 13 man squad for the clash, but given they had a good win a few days ago against the Stars, it’s probably unlikely that we see any changes to their side. Caleb Jewell could be added if they want to go for more batting depth, but with Scott Boland on international duty, it’s likely they keep the extra all-rounder.
Adelaide Strikers
Predicted XI: Jake Weatherald, Matt Short, Matt Renshaw, Jonathan Wells, Thomas Kelly, Harry Nielsen, George Garton, Rashid Khan, Wes Agar, Peter Siddle, Fawad Ahmed
It’s been a tough season to date for the Strikers, who have just one win through their opening five games. They have, however, picked up four bash boost points, which has them in sixth place. Due to their solid play in the first ten overs, they are by no means out of the hunt for the coveted top five but they have a tough test in Hobart on Monday.
I think they too go with the same squad as their last game, which seems pretty balanced with all-rounder George Garton at No.7. If he can come to the party with the ball, the Strikers have a really capable bowling unit led by Rashid Khan.
Match Prediction
The Canes start as slight favourites at home but once again, I think a large factor down in Hobart in any twilight game is the toss. The team that wins the toss and bats first nearly always wins in Hobart due to the dew factor later in the night making the ball extremely soft and hard to hit.
I’m happy to take the Hurricanes here relying on the fact that the win the toss and inevitably bat first.
Same Game Multi
Matthew Wade has been in good form to start the BBL11 season. In five innings, he has passed the 10 run mark four times and has scored 169 runs at an average of 33.80. Passes the 10 run mark 78% of the time since BBL07 and averages a ridiculous 87.75 in 10 innings against the Adelaide Strikers.
They have had a few poor performances this season but I still think the Hurricanes batting line-up is their strength. They amassed 180 against the Stars on Christmas Eve and if D’Arcy Short can find some form, they will be even stronger. I think they cruise past 145 on Monday night, especially if they bat first.
As always, the third leg of our multi will be the first wicket of the game to be caught. It has now saluted in 17/21 games this season.
