NRL Eels vs Knights Betting Tips
Elimination Final, Browne Park, Sunday 4.05pm (AEST)
The finals have finally arrived and we get a juicy Sunday clash to round out the weekend. Both these sides have huge fan bases so this match will be much anticipated and looks set up to be a tight one. The two teams finished the season in decent form but went through patches of poor performances and consistency plagued a lot of their year. Who will turn up when it matters and march on towards the grand final?
Parramatta will fancy their chances this afternoon as they face the Knights who they have a strong record against in recent times. The last meeting between these sides saw the Eels put on a clinic, winning 40-4. You’d expect today’s match to be a bit tighter but I still think the Eels have the upper hand. A repeat of that win two weeks ago against the Storm would see Parramatta win every game for the rest of the year but it’s a matter of which type of Eels side shows up. They rested a bunch of their starters last week and were outclassed late against Penrith, but should be refreshed and ready to fire here. The return of Clint Gutherson and Mitchell Moses can’t be underestimated and they’ll be looking to bury the bad memories of last year’s finals series. It’s do or die for the Eels and coach Brad Arthur.
Newcastle were going in search of a sixth-straight win last week to finish the season however they fell short against the Broncos. Outside of that, they were flying in the lead up to these finals and that sort of form will be key to their chances today. Since Mitch Pearce has returned from injury, his combination with Kalyn Ponga has been influential and they will both be key factors in today’s outcome. The Knights will welcome back a host of starters, including the Saifiti brothers which will be crucial in dominating the middle of the field. While you could argue they are in better form, across the park I’m just not sure if they can match up against a Parramatta side who has so much firepower from 1-13.
Expecting this to be a cracking match to round out the first week of the finals with the Eels prevailing in a tight one.
