Bangladesh vs Australia 4th T20 Preview & Betting Tips

August 7th 2021, 4:21pm, By: Jack Tobin

Bangladesh vs Australia 4th T20 Betting Tips

Bangladesh sealed their first ever series victory against Australia in any format, as a ten run win in game three gave them an unassailable 3-0 series lead. The Aussies have been close in all three encounters, but they’re batting has come up short in every game. Can they find a way to get over the line? Or will Bangladesh continue its charge towards a series whitewash?

Match Prediction

It feels like a broken record saying this once again, however it was an all too familiar story for the Australians in game three. A quality bowling performance limiting Bangladesh’s score to a chaseable target, a batting innings carried by Mitch Marsh, that ultimately fell short for Australia.

Nathan Ellis became the first player in history to take a hattrick on T20I debut, as he showed signs of being the death bowler that Australia have been crying out for, for many years in white ball cricket. Australia restricted Bangladesh to 7/127, but with only three scores in double figures for the Aussies, they fell ten runs short.

Mitch Marsh continued his insane run of form with 51 from 47, but an outstanding death bowling performance from the Bangladeshis saw them concede just 27 off the last four overs, including the nineteenth over, where Mustafizur Rahman conceded just one run, which was the deciding factor in the match.

Australia had made advances in improving against spin, but it was all undone by Mustafizur Rahman taking 2/9 from 4 overs. Bangladesh have now won five of their last six T20I’s while Australia have lost eight of their last nine games of T20 cricket.

Bangladesh’s bowlers have dominated this series restricting Australia to scores of 108, 121 and 117. Conceding above a run a ball only once in three games, just highlights how impactful Bangladesh’s bowling attack has been this series.

Mitch Marsh has scored 40.75% of Australia’s runs this series, and it’s simply unsustainable that Australia can win games being so reliant on one player. Bangladesh have been remarkable with the ball, and have found ways to scrape to defendable totals.

Although Australia have been competitive in all three matches, however their batting just isn’t good enough in these conditions to post winning scores. With the momentum well and truly with Bangladesh, they will extend their series lead.

Despite the majority of the praise this series going towards the Bangladeshi spinners, Mustafizur Rahman has been outstanding this series with figures of 2/16, 3/23 and 0/9. Mustafizur has taken 5 wickets this series at an average of 9.60, with an economy rate of just 4. It has been a superb series from a player that is beginning to launch himself into the conversation of the premier white ball bowlers in the world, as he leads this inexperienced Bangladesh side to a historic series victory. Mustafizur has tormented the Australian batters all series long, and you can expect that to continue in game four

It’s simply too hard to go past the remarkable form of Mitch Marsh with the way he is playing. Marsh has scores of 51, 54, 9, 75, 30, 45, 45 and 51 in his last eight T20I innings, and is the stand out batsmen this series with 141 runs at an average of 47. Marsh has been incredible this series, and although his teammates have been poor around him, it makes him an even more reliable pick as Australia’s leading run scorer. Marsh has scored 427 runs at an average of 35 in T20I’s this year, and you can expect him to continue to produce his incredible form in game four.
