EPL Matchday 30 Betting Tips

Everton vs Tottenham

Saturday 5:00am AEST, Goodison Park

Everton and Tottenham had incredible starts to the season which saw both sides occupy the top spot on the Premier League table. However it’s been a horror run for both sides since the new year, with Tottenham sitting seventh and Everton in eighth, as both sides hopes of playing European football are fading. The Toffees who are winless in their last four games host Spurs, who are coming off an awful second half performance which saw them lose 3-1 at home to Manchester United.

Everton have had success over Tottenham this season, beating in the league this season and in the FA Cup. Dominic Calvert-Lewin sits fourth in the golden boot race and has been the Toffees best player this season. The Everton striker has a good record against Tottenhem, with two goals and three assists in seven matches in all competitions against Spurs. The Everton striker will hold a massive key in this fixture, against a side he has played well against before. Tottenham look devoid of all confidence and unhealthy reliance on captain Harry Kane and winger Hueng-Min Son has caught up to them as the season has worn on.

Whilst Everton have been held to draws in their last two outings, they showed promising signs, if they can find a way to finish the chances they create, they’ll get back to winning ways in no time. There’s a lot of pressure on Jose Mourinho and his players, and they haven’t handled it well at all throughout this season. Everton to get back on the winners list with an important victory.

Newcastle vs West Ham

Saturday 9:30pm AEST, St James' Park

West Ham have been the biggest surprise package of the Premier League this season, remarkably sitting in fourth place with seven games to go. After finishing sixteenth last season where they barely survived the drop, and a horror summer transfer window which saw the departures of Sebastian Haller and Grady Diangrana, the Hammers were expected to be fighting for survival once again.

However they’ve blown those expectations out of the water, and after a gutsy 3-2 win over Leicester last week, the prospect of playing in the Champions League for the first time, isn’t just a dream. Newcastle host the in-form Hammers at St James Park. Newcastle come into the fixture after a crucial victory over Burnley last week, which has seen them move six points clear of the relegation zone, with a game in hand on eighteenth placed Fulham. After arriving in January on loan from Manchester United, Jesse Lingard has been the hottest player in the Premier League, tallying up eight goals and three assists in nine appearances for West Ham.

Newcastle have struggled defensively this season, conceding 51 goals, the fifth most in the Premier League. The Magpies will be put to the test against a West Ham side that has scored the sixth most goals in the league with 51. West Ham are playing with some serious belief and a desperation that matches the opportunity they have in the final seven games of the season. The Hammers are in good form and should consolidate fourth spot with a win over Newcastle.

Arsenal vs Fulham

Sunday 10:30pm AEST, Emirates Stadium

An Alexandre Lacazette brace got the Gunners back on the winners list with a 3-0 win over Sheffield United last week. Arsenal face another side that are heading towards relegation as Fulham travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night. Fulham missed a big opportunity to remain in reach of seventeenth placed Newcastle, after conceding a stoppage time winner against Wolves. Fulham are now six points behind Newcastle, who have a game in hand on Fulham, and the outlook for their survival hopes looks incredibly bleak.

The big factor in the clash is the difference in attacking firepower between the two sides. Arsenal has scored eight goals in their past four Premier League matches, Fulham have only scored nine goals from their past thirteen matches. The Gunners have four players who have netted five or more goals this season, whilst Fulham has just one. With Fulham failing to score multiple goals in their last nine Premier League matches, it’s tough to see them being able to be enough of a threat in attack.

Alexandre Lacazette is in red hot form and looks set to give the Fulham defence plenty of trouble, the striker has scored four goals in his last four appearances. Arsenal has won their last six Premier league matches against Fulham, and with the gap in talent between the two sides, the Gunners should extend that streak to seven.
