EPL Matchday 27 Betting Tips
Brighton vs Leicester City
Sunday 7am AEDT, American Express Stadium
Leicester City head to Brighton with a golden opportunity to climb into second place. Leicester were held to a draw by Burnley during the week, but with Manchester United facing the league leading Man City, a win would likely see the Foxes jump into second on the Premier League table.
Brighton currently sit sixteenth on the table, and are on a two game losing streak. Brighton faces a massive challenge trying to contain Jamie Vardy, who has wreaked havoc against the Seagulls in the past three years. In seven Premier League appearances against Brighton, Vardy has bagged five goals. The Foxes know how crucial this game is to firmly establish a Champions league position, with a big logjam of teams between fourth and seventh, gaining ground on Leicester.
Vardy was at his best against Brighton earlier this season, scoring and adding two assists in a big win for the Foxes. Brighton have struggled to score this season, and with the touch Kasper Schmeichel is in, it's hard to see them putting goals past him. Leicester have an excellent record against Brighton in the Premier league, with 5-2-0 head to head record. Leicester have had their way against Brighton in recent times, and you can expect that to continue in this match.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
Monday 3:30am AEDT, Etihad Stadium
Manchester City notched up their fifteenth consecutive win, with a 4-1 victory over Wolves during the week. City have created a massive gap at the top of the Premier League table, with second placed Manchester United fifteen points behind the league leaders. Remarkably, City have not fallen behind for a single minute in their last nineteen Premier League matches. The Red Devils have struggled of late, picking up only seven points from their last five matches.
After being the best attacking side in the league for the majority of the season, United have been held to scoreless draws in their past two Premier League matches. The potency they had in attack early in the season, hasn’t been displayed by this United outfit for quite some time. Outside of Bruno Fernandes, most of their goal scoring threats are severely out of form, with Marcus Rashford struggling badly in the Red Devils past two matches.
Manchester City have dominated in attack in recent times, scoring seventeen goals in their past six league games. City are in red hot form and look completely unstoppable at the moment, and it’s difficult to see United putting enough goals past this rock solid City defence.
Chelsea vs Everton
Tuesday 5am AEDT, Stamford Bridge
One of the most crucial matches of the season takes place on Tuesday morning as the fourth placed Chelsea host the fifth placed Everton. With only four points between fourth and seventh on the Premier League table, Everton have a chance to jump into the top four with a win in this clash, whilst Chelsea have an opportunity to establish their spot in the top four.
With consecutive wins in their last three league fixtures, Everton have gotten back on track after a few poor weeks. The Toffees will be full of confidence, having won three of their last four league matches against Chelsea. Whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin has received most of the praise for Everton’s success this season, his teammate Richarlison has been carrying the load recently, scoring in the Toffee’s last four games.
Everton have enough quality to match Chelsea in the midfield, so if their defence can contain what has been a subpar season by Chelsea’s attackers, they’ll give themselves a massive chance. Everton defeated Chelsea 1-0 earlier in the season, and will be confident they can do the double over the Blues. Everton will be up to the challenge in this massive game, and will cause an upset over Chelsea.
