Another Wednesday is upon us which means there is a heap of quality midweek racing to get stuck into. We look to Sandown and Warwick Farm for today’s meetings and I think there are a few runners who look good winning chances.

Horse Racing Tips - Wednesday, March 3rd
Warwick Farm Race 1
Siding with the (1) Ma And Pa here after an encouraging debut on the Kensington track a couple of weeks ago. The Waller trained colt showed enough ability to warrant favouritism today at only it’s second start and I think he may have just peaked on the run over 1400m the other day. The step up to the mile looks a positive while the booking of Nash Rawiller is also a good lead and sticks on from the debut race. There looks to be little speed engaged here so Rawiller should be able to dictate terms from gate 6 and this horse should be going close to breaking his maiden status today.
Sandown Race 1
Keen on a few early bets today and we are diving straight into the opening race on the card at Sandown. (1) Montana Flash drops significantly in grade for this after chasing home current Golden Slipper favourite Stay Inside while the start before that saw him get within half a length of Home Affairs and we know the quality that horse has shown. That run in the Canonbury would see him win this race with a leg in the air and I think he can break his maiden today in what looks a relatively weak field. Craig WIlliams jumps aboard and the horse will only have to carry 58.5kg which seems relatively fair in comparison to the field. The stable clearly have an opinion of him and we can probably forgive the last start fail where he was in the worst part of the track. Confident we can kick proceedings off at Sandown with a win on this guy.
Sandown Race 2
Pretty keen on a horse here who drops out of Group company and back to this Benchmark 64 over the 1600m. The Peter Moody trained (5) Yulong Code looks to be the one to beat in this after a solid return in the Autumn Stakes. He was only 3 lengths behind Poland and Amish Boy which looks strong enough form for a midweek bm64. He hit the line strongly in that first-up run and looks as if he will only improve with the race-fitness under his belt. It is always a brave move tipping a ‘Yulong’ but this one is in the best hands possible with champion trainer Peter Moody absolutely flying lately. I am thinking that he has pulled the right reign in dropping him back to a race like this and looks extremely well-placed. The query is definitely the inside draw and I think is why we are getting almost $3 at the moment. I am hoping in a small-ish field, Nolen can drop him out the back early and find the gaps when needed.
Sandown Race 6
Excited to see UK import (9) Eagles Crag tackle his second Australian start after making quite the impression on his local debut. Archie Alexander looks like he might have a smart type on his hands after the lightly raced 4-year old absolutely demolished a maiden field at Pakenham by 5 lengths a few weeks ago. In fairness he probably didn’t beat much on the night but the win was backed up by the clock and it is hard not to like him taking the next step here this afternoon. Barrier 12 doesn’t look too big of an issue and a lack of speed inside should see him cross early and either lead or sit just outside the leader and hopefully repeat exactly what he did the other week. The way this horse travelled up to the leader around the home turn last start will tell you all you need to know about the untapped ability and I am pretty keen on his chances here. This is quite a strong bm64 however with the likes of (5) Sky Horse and (7) Maui quality horses in their own right and look the main dangers. With that being said, Eagles Crag has only had the two race starts and there looks to be a whole heap of upside.
Warwick Farm Race 7
Looking to take on the short-priced in Lost and Running with plenty of value around him. Concede this horse has plenty of upside and is hard ot beat but reckon we can have a peanut on (6) The Neon Knight at a double figure quote. Jeff Englebrecht has this horse absolutely flying, having won 4 on the trot this prep before coming to town and very nearly making it 5 straight. That race clearly showed this horse can match motors with city grade and I really like the switch to Warwick Farm today. He will appreciate staying at the 1000m while also staying in the same grade and t the current $11/$2.80 I am keen to have something on. Regular ride Grant buckley makes the trip to town to retain the ride and he can find a position just in behind the pace with some cover and let rip in the home straight. This horse has shown a great turn of foot and will to win and I can’t knock him on anything he has done so far this prep.
