EPL Matchday 24 Betting Tips
Leicester City vs Liverpool
Saturday 11:30pm AEDT, King Power Stadium
Leicester have a massive opportunity to firmly entrench themselves in the top four when they host Liverpool on Saturday night. The Foxes sit in third places, with a three point lead over the fourth placed Liverpool. Liverpool are reeling after their 4-1 loss to Manchester City at Anfield last week, and the injuries that the defending champions have suffered, are finally taking a toll.
Liverpool’s undermanned defence faces a massive challenge trying to contain Jamie Vardy who has scored 11 goals so far this season. Leicester have been an incredibly consistent side that has continued to find a way to grind out points this season, losing just two of their last eleven games.
Liverpool’s star studded attack has struggled since the new year, only scoring multiple goals in two of their seven games since 2021 began. Liverpool are struggling badly right now, and this presents a golden opportunity to a Leicester outfit that has continuously found a way to get the job done this season. The Foxes start as the outsiders, but are well positioned to upset the reigning champs.
Manchester City vs Tottenham
Sunday 4:30am AEDT, Etihad Stadium
Manchester City will be looking for their eleventh consecutive Premier League victory when the host Tottenham on Sunday morning. Manchester City are coming off a dominant 4-1 where they proved they are the best side in the league. City have been utterly dominant over the past two months, and they now sit five points clear at the top of the table, with a game in hand.
Tottenham have lost three of their last four Premier League games on the back of a shaky defence and some negative tactics from Jose Mourinho, which has them sitting in eighth place. Harry Kane’s absence during their form slump, shows Spurs unhealthy reliance on their star striker. City’s defence has been remarkable this season, recording eight clean sheets in their last ten matches.
On the other hand, Tottenham’s defence has been in awful form and could be exposed badly by Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan who have been in outstanding form. Mourinho will look to put plenty of numbers behind the ball, but City have the quality and creativity through their midfield to find a way through. Manchester City are the most in form side in the world at the moment, and they will easily account for a Tottenham side that is lacking confidence and identity.
Everton vs Fulham
Sunday 6am AEDT, Goodison Park
The Toffees have shocked plenty this season as they look to be a genuine chance to qualify for the Champions League. However their opponents Fulham face a massive battle to avoid relegation. Fulham sit eight points away from safety and don't look likey they will be able to avoid the drop.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in outstanding touch this season, scoring 13 goals to sit second in the golden boot race. With James Rodriguez and Richarlison providing Calvert-Lewin with quality opportunities, Fulham are going to have their hands full trying to stop Everton. Fulham don't have enough weapons in attack to give the Toffees any troubles, so this fixture could become a blowout quickly.
Expect Fulham to be hanging on for dear life early in this game. Fulham have not tasted victory in their last thirteen league matches and they don't look capable of stopping this dynamic Everton outfit. The Toffees defeated Fulham 3-2 back in November, which will have them full of confidence that they can produce another big performance against Fulham. Everton just simply have too much talent for Fulham to challenge the Toffees. Everton are well set for a massive win against this struggling Fulham side.
