We return to the Adelaide Oval Thursday night as the Adelaide Strikers take on the Brisbane Heat in match 46 of the BBL10 season.
It’s 6th place versus 7th place tonight in a must-win match for both sides as we approach the pointy end of the season. Both teams come into this match off disappointing losses where their batting struggled to make any impact in the match.
The Strikers put in their worst performance of the tournament in their last match where they were bundled out for a dismal 68 runs in 14 overs against the Stars. You can guarantee they will be keen to move on from that and bounce back here in a big way.
The Heat also put in a shocking display of batting as they collapsed against the Scorchers to be bowled out for 115 in 16 overs. Brisbane will be looking for their side to stand up and ease the pressure on skipper Chris Lynn who has top scored for the Heat in their last three matches.

Match Prediction
As we get closer to the finals every match becomes more and more important in this BBL season. Both these sides sit on 5 wins and 6 losses so this match sets up to be crucial for each team. It was the Strikers who came out on top in a close match the last time these two sides met and I think this one will set up for a similar result.
The Strikers have had an up and down season with their performances declining as the season goes on. Their strong bowling has slowly been struggling more and more while their batsmen are also in search for some much needed runs. I’m saying that, they have been a completely different team back at the Adelaide oval and I am keen to be with them tonight. They will be looking to bounce back in a big way against a team who are in a similar position.
The Heat have been solid without being great and have been heavily reliant on their skipper Chris Lynn in their past few matches. I am expecting the strong Strikers’ bowling attack to target Lynn and make things difficult for a struggling Heat batting side. The return to Adelaide Oval is a massive factor in the match tonight, as the Strikers have performed well all season here.
The other factor to consider in this match is the fact that the Strikers have had a 5-day turnaround since their last match. Compare this to the Heat who have been travelling non-stop and only played their last match on Wednesday, the Strikers will be well rested and ready to put in a big performance.
Strikers Ppop Bet
In a batting lineup which has been one of the hardest to predict all season, I’m going to side with a bowler as our key player here tonight. Wes Agar has been a sensation for the Strikers this season as he pushes his case for an international short-format call up.
Agar sits 5th on the wicket-taker charts with 17 so far in the tournament and has been the Strikers’ most consistent bowler all year. Agar has now taken the most wickets for the Strikers in four out of their last five match at this venue so this looks like another great chance tonight.
Keen to have a play at the price considering the uncertainty around the Strikers batting, and the form which has seen Agar considered one of the best bowlers in the competition.

Heat Prop Bet
I have said it many a time before but it is becoming very hard to tip against Chris Lynn this season. Lynn has been one of our consistent performers all year and has delivered us some great results throughout the tournament.
Lynn has top-scored for the Heat in their last three matches and continues to lead by example as their key batsmen within the lineup. Lynn has totalled 300 runs this season which puts him 7th on the run scorer charts, an incredible achievement considering the matches he has missed through injury.
The Heat batsmen have been struggling as a whole all tournament and there doesn’t look any immediate dangers to Lynn once again.
