Adelaide oval is the venue for match 17 of BBL10 where the Adelaide Strikers come up against the Perth Scorchers. It will be the first match that the Strikers play at home this season and they will be keen to continue their good start to the tournament.
The Scorchers have been disappointing so far this year and remain one of two winless teams so they will be eager to get their first win here tonight. The men in orange just can’t seem to post enough runs to be competitive and will need something to change against a side who are looking to go to the top of table with a win here tonight.
The Strikers seem to be getting better the longer the tournament goes and the switch back to their favoured Adelaide Oval will only make things tougher for Perth tonight. They too haven’t been posting massive totals in comparison to other teams but their bowling has been some of the best in the competition.
The Scorchers have a solid roster on paper but just haven’t been able to put it all together so far in BBL10. Look for their big name players to stand up in a must-win match with the likes of skipper Mitch Marsh, and Aussie short-form star Andrew Tye the key to their hopes of a win.

Match Prediction
As I mentioned at the top of the preview, both these sides have seemingly struggled with the bat this tournament. That says to me that this match will be won or lost with the ball in hand and all depends on how the bowlers perform on either side. The Strikers bowlers have definitely been better in the lead up to this match with everyone chipping in with wickets across their 4 games so far.
Being back in Adelaide looks as big of a factor in the result of this match as anything else as well. The Strikers love playing at Adelaide Oval and you can guarantee there will be a packed out crowd in tonight to get behind their team. History also seems to be on the Strikers’ side having played against the Scorchers five times at this venue and winning the last four of those.
The Scorchers batting line-up has struggled for consistency this season and relies so much on Mitch Marsh to score the brunt of their runs. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some changes within the order tonight to try find some runs from somewhere. The job won’t get any easier however, coming up against a side tonight that has taken 29 wickets across their 4 matches in BBL10.
I think the Strikers will be too strong back in front of a home crowd against a team which is lacking consistency and execution in the big moments.
Adelaide Strikers Prop Bet
Rashid Khan is yet to make a massive mark on BBL10 but has been chipping away quietly taking a couple of wickets here and there. He loves bowling at Adelaide Oval and has produced a number of match winning spells for his side here.
He took 3 wickets against the Scorchers last time he played against them at this venue and a repeat of that performance would see us pretty close to collecting on our selection here. Many of the Scorchers batsmen have struggled against spin this year and Khan is one of the best to do it in the competition.
In a side where it can be hard to pin point which batsmen to target for the top run scorer bets, Khan stands out to me in the wicket-taking department. If he can get on a roll with the Adelaide crowd behind him, we may see him take a bag of wickets.

Perth Scorchers Prop Bet
Colin Munro has been building to a big innings recently and I am keen to get on his back here tonight. The big Kiwi can match it with the biggest hitters in the world on his day and looks just about ready to fire for his new side.
After a duck in his debut innings for the Scorchers, Munro has scored 49 and 25 respectively and a big score is looking close for him. He has put together some huge T20 innings over the years and is a world-class talent. His side is currently struggling for runs so there will be an added pressure on their international star to make his mark on the match.
The Scorchers batting line-up is relatively weak in the top order and Munro may be the centrepiece to keeping the innings on track. Keen to have something on him at the price which is on offer at the moment.
