Bowling
The Thunder improved their bowling stocks this season with the additions of New Zealand import Adam Milne and Ben Cutting from the Brisbane Heat. They will combine with Chris Tremain and the BBL09 leading wicket taker Daniel Sams to make up a quality fast bowling unit. Jono Cook was also impressive in BBL09, taking 13 wickets in 12 games and should shoulder the spin load once again.
The good thing about the Thunder bowling attack is all of them will be available for the full season, meaning they’ll get some great continuity together and should improve throughout the season as a unit. Like the value of Jono Cook to top the Thunder wicket takers this season. Will play every game and bowl his full allotment.

Batting
Not only did the Thunder improve their bowling line-up in the off-season but they also got better with the bat. They picked up Englishman Sam Billings to pair with Alex Hales at the top order and Callum Ferguson, Alex Ross, Ben Cutting and Daniel Sams make up what is a really solid middle order.
The key for the Thunder and the reason why we have them finishing in the top five this season is Usman Khawaja. Was, for a time, the best and most reliable batsman in all three forms of the game and since the Justin Langer regime began, Uzzy has fallen out of favour slowly and has now been left out of the international summer all-together. A fired up Khawaja with a chip on his shoulder is a daunting prospect for opposition bowling attacks.

The thing that works in the Thunder’s favour more than anything else this season is availability. Basically the whole Thunder line-up will be available for the entirety of the BBL10 season, which is a rarity with the amount of international cricket that is played in this day and age. They have proven T20 specialists in the likes of Sams, Cook, Hales, Billings and Cutting to combine with a world class batsman in Usman. Back them to overachieve this season.
