It’s been slim pickings for cricket lovers over the past six months, but the light finally seems to be appearing at the end of the tunnel! The Australian international season gets underway soon and the domestic T20 competition, the Big Bash League, shortly after!

BBL10 is set to be an exciting one with plenty of star talent scattered throughout the eight teams. Today we are taking a look at some of the key batsmen to watch in the 2020-21 Big Bash League season.
Note: Australian Test players have been excluded from the list as they will not be available in the BBL until January.
1 D’Arcy Short
BBL10 Top Runscorer Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
The Hurricane has been arguably the premier batsman in the Big Bash League for the better part of three years now and will enter the new season as a candidate to top the run scoring tally. Short scored 357 runs in just nine innings last season at an average of 44.63 including a massive hundred. The opener has not been selected in either the T20 or ODI squads to face India so he should be available for the full season and will have extra responsibility with Matthew Wade likely to miss large portions of BBL10.
2 Chris Lynn
BBL10 Top Runscorer Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the master blaster at the very top of his game, but he looks fit and raring to go ahead of this season and will be absolutely chomping at the bit after a disappointing IPL campaign. Lynn was released from the Knight Riders ahead of the season and picked up by the eventual champion Mumbai Indians. Unfortunately, he couldn’t break into the Mumbai side, and was an overpriced waterboy for the entire season. Scored 387 runs at 29.88 in what many consider to be a ‘down’ season in BBL09.
3 Marcus Stoinis
BBL10 Top Runscorer Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
Went from being a ‘handy batting allrounder’ in 2017 to the most prolific run scorer in the league over the last two seasons. Scored 533 runs at 53.3 in BBL08 and topped the run-scoring list in BBL09 with a ridiculous 705 runs at 54.23. Opens the batting for arguably the most exciting team in the league and hits the ball as hard as anyone. Must watch TV whenever the Stars take the field.
4 Alex Hales
BBL10 Top Runscorer Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
The hard hitting English opener was second on the run scoring list last season with 576 at 38.40. In 17 innings, he plundered six scores of 50+ and another 3 scores of 30+ to lead the way for the Thunder. Outside of Usman Khawaja, who is next on this list, there isn’t a lot of top end batting talent for the Thunder, so he will once again feature prominently throughout the season.
5 Usman Khawaja
BBL10 Top Runscorer Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
Could be the player of the series this year. Has been dominating the Sheffield Shield season to date, plundering 226 runs at an average of 56.50 runs. Doesn’t have any burden of any international selection on his shoulders so will be playing the full season in lime green for the Sydney Thunder. Come season's end, we feel like Khawaja will be very close to the top of the run-scorer's list.
