NFL Week 8 Monday Betting Tips

Buffalo Bills at Seattle Seahawks

7.05am (AEDT)

The Bills are 5-2 on the season and already have a commanding lead in the AFC East division, with their next closest rivals in the Dolphins and the Jets both stranded on just two wins. They have won their last two games in the row over the Jets and Titans, and their offence has been firing on all cylinders this season, ranking 5th in the league putting up 28.4 points per game.

The Seahawks started the season in hot form, winning their first three games over the Broncos, Patriots and Dolphins. They went on to lose three of their next four and now sit just one game clear at the top of the NFC West with a 4-3 record. Their offence has been solid throughout the season, but they have had a leaky defence particularly over the last month, allowing 30.25 points per game over their last four.

Have to like the look of the overs in this one. Both of these teams possess high powered offences, ranking 5th and 8th in the league respectively. In the 14 combined games that these teams have been involved in this season, the over is 9-5.

Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders

7.25am (AEDT)

The Raiders have lost their last three games on the spin to the Broncos, Steelers and Rams and now face a challenging two weeks with games against the undefeated Chiefs and the revitalised Bengals. They are 2-5 on the season and sit at the very bottom of the AFC West division, a full four wins behind their Sunday opponents in the Chiefs.

The Chiefs are the only undefeated team remaining in the NFL through seven weeks, maintaining a perfect 6-0 record and sitting atop the AFC West by two wins. Unlike previous years, however, they have also been pretty dominant against the spread, going 4-1-1 through their opening games with defence being the catalyst, allowing just 17.2 points per game.

The Chiefs start as big 9.5-point favourites here. While they have been covering on a regular basis this season, I think this line might be a touch high on the road. They have only won two of their six games by double digits this season and are maintaining just a 7.1 point average margin. Back the Raiders to cover at home here.

Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers

11.20am (AEDT)

The marquee fixture on Sunday Night Football sees the 49ers hosting the Cowboys. The 49ers were touted as a Super Bowl contender at the start of the season but injuries to key players has largely derailed their year to date, starting 3-4 through the first seven weeks. Key skill position players in Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings are all batting injuries heading into the Week 8 clash.

The Cowboys had similar hype to the 49ers pre-season and have had similar fortunes through seven weeks. They are 3-3 on the season but are coming off an embarrassing 38 point loss to the Lions in Week 7. Their defence is the 2nd worst ranked in the league, better than only the Panthers, allowing 28.0 points per game.

Hard to like either of these teams at the moment. The Cowboys look terribly out of form and the 49ers are battling so many injuries on offence that it’s hard to see them putting up a winning score here. I think the unders looks the play here with this total sitting pretty high at 47.5 points. Two of the last three games between these two teams have gone under the total.
