NFL 2024-25 Daily Fantasy Tips: Super Bowl

February 7th 2025, 12:46pm, By: Ben Bridge

Super Bowl Fantasy

Another year, another Chiefs Super Bowl. This year, we get a rematch of the 2022/23 Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. Can the Eagles get their revenge, or will the Chiefs become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three in a row. Should be a cracking matchup!

Draftstars has a $25,000 guaranteed contest, with a first prize of almost $2,500. There are plenty of other contests for everyone to get involved in the Super Bowl fantasy fun. A slight change to the format this week with just the two teams involved, meaning you need to pick a captain and five FLEX options. Here, we will give you some of our best picks for captain (1.5x), as well as players to look at for your five FLEX slots.

NFL 2024-25 Daily Fantasy Tips: Super Bowl

Captains

Saquon Barkley - $30,135

The premium option in the Super Bowl to be your captain, Barkley is the man who can single handedly ruin any chance at money if you leave him out and he brains it. Over the course of the Divisional Round and NFC Championship games, Barkley has run for 323 yards and 5 touchdowns, and punched out scores of 42.2 and 32.2. Most experts agree if the Eagles are to win this game, Barkley needs to be huge. There’s a reason he’s by far the most expensive option, and it’s up to you to decide whether you want to leave out the most destructive player in the game.

Dallas Goedert - $15,240

Goedert, like Barkley, has stepped it up in the playoffs. This week, he gets a tremendous matchup against a Chiefs team that has conceded the most yards to opposing tight ends of any team in the NFL this season. If the Chiefs sell-out to stop the run, which they almost surely do, the Eagles will have to attack the Chiefs over the middle of the field, given their two elite outside corners. Goedert is the ultimate Barkley fade as a captain in my opinion, and if he can get a touchdown, could come out of the game as one of the top 3 scorers. He is also very much an option as a FLEX this week.

Juju Smith-Schuster - $4,395

Ok, this is a bit of a Hail Mary, but sometimes you’ve got to go a little left of centre to secure the cash in Draftstars. Juju Smith-Schuster was targeted 3 times in the AFC Championship Game, for 2 catches and 60 yards. Juju has shown in the past that he can step it up in the biggest of spots, and with Travis Kelce likely to be doubled over the middle, I expect at least three big play targets to the ex-Steeler in the Super Bowl. What he does with those targets is anyone’s guess, however if he can turn them into some big gains and possibly a score, he could punch out a very nice score here and save you plenty of cash to go and get another elite gun in your FLEX plays.

FLEX Options

Jalen Hurts - $17,900

Hurts was tremendous in the Super Bowl two years ago, so I have no qualms about his ability in the big spot. Hurts threw for over 300 yards and a touchdown, and had three rushing touchdowns, in what was a tremendous display in fantasy output. Again, if the Chiefs manage to somewhat shut Barkley down, other players are going to have to step up, and Hurts is front and centre of players the Eagles will need to do so. Hurts is a stud in fantasy, with his upside helped in a massive way by his ability to score touchdowns on the ground. With five scores of 25+ this season, Hurts is a great option in this spot.

Travis Kelce - $14,690

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Kelce has proven year after year that he is the man in the big spot. Whilst his regular season was disappointing compared to his usual statistical output, he still had enough big games to show he has it when called upon. The Eagles have been very good against opposing tight ends, with line-backers Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean having huge years. With Dean out though, Kelce should be able to get in behind the Eagles’ defence and be targeted enough to warrant a play here. A touchdown for Kelce will not surprise, with Mahomes and Andy Reid loving getting their sure-handed tight end involved near the goal line.

A.J. Brown - $13,600

Brown shot back to form last week after a rough month or so of fantasy output, hauling in 6 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in the NFC Championship game. Brown is not a volume monster, which hurts his fantasy output, but he is a big game player and I believe he will have a role to play in the Super Bowl. Two years ago in the Super Bowl, Brown caught 6 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown, and I can see him having a similar output this week. DeVonta Smith is an option for a cheaper price, and he as done well the last two times against the Chiefs, but I like Brown a little more here.

Xavier Worthy - $11,160

Worthy had a bit of a down week in the Divisional round against the Texans, but aside from that has been very consistent over the past month and a half of football. He has established himself as the clear number 1 receiver (sans Kelce) in the Chiefs offense, and it is his versatility which makes me like him even more here. The Chiefs are renowned for leaving plays off of film until they really need it the most, and this week I believe the Eagles will see some looks that no one has seen this season from the Chiefs. Worthy is the gadget guy that Andy Reid looks to on these special plays, so don’t be surprised to see a rushing touchdown in the box score for Worthy come full time.

Kareem Hunt - $9,020

Hunt doesn’t have great upside, but he is the undoubted RB1 for the Chiefs heading into the Super Bowl and has scored a touchdown in each of his last four games. There’s a great chance that Hunt will get the ball down on the goal line again in the Super Bowl, and if he can get another score, will have a great floor for someone at this price point. Unfortunately, we can’t pick all the guns, and you’ve got to shoehorn some cheaper guys in. Hunt provides a good enough base that you aren’t risking a zero from one of your cheapies.
