NFL Week 6 Monday Betting Tips
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles
Monday 11.20am (AEDT)
What a fantastic matchup we have in store for the marquee fixture on Monday morning. Many anticipated that the NFC East would be one of the worst divisions in the league this season, but through five weeks it looks to be one of if not the best. The Cowboys and Giants are both 4-1 on the season so far while the Eagles are the only undefeated team remaining in the league at 5-0.
The Eagles have been getting the job done through offence this season, currently sitting in 5th place in the league in offensive rankings, averaging 27.0 points per game. On the contrary, the Cowboys defence has been spectacular, stepping up in the absence of QB Dak Prescott to allow just 12.2 points per game, good for third best mark in the league.
The Eagles are certainly deserved favourites at home but I think this 6.5 point line is a little too high given how good the Cowboys defence has been so far this season. I think Dallas can keep this one close in what should be a thrilling Sunday night affair. Back them with the 6.5-point head start.
Other Tips
New England Patriots at Cleveland Browns
The Patriots have picked up some momentum over the last few weeks with backup quarterback Bailey Zappe at the helm. Hwooever, it's been their defence that has been the catalyst. I expect this one to be a low scoring game on the back of that.
Under 43.0 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Cincinnati Benfals at New Orleans Saints
The Saints will really struggle to put up points here without their three best receivers in the line-up and against a Bengals defence that has been solid this season. I think the Bengals roll through the Saints here.
Bengals -2.5 ($1.83 at Ladbrokes)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are without a bunch of defensive key players heading into this game and the Buccs will be looking at it as a bit of a tune up game to try to find some form it what has been a disjointed season so far. I think the Buccs flex their muscles here.
Buccs -9.5 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
New York Jets at Green Bay Packers
The Jets have exceeded expectations so far this season but I think they could be in for a bit of a reality check when they travel to Green Bay this week. Back the Packers who are 2-1 at home to cover the spread here.
Packers -7.5 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants
This is one of the best matchups of the week as the 4-1 Giants face off against the 3-2 Ravens. The Ravens are one of the highest scoring teams in the competition this season, putting up 27.6 points per game while the Giants put up 27 on the Packers last week. Expecting a bit of a shootout here.
Over 45.5 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts
One of the more evenly matched games of the week sees the Jags travelling to Indy to take on the Colts. The Jags were impressive to start the season but have list their last two games on the trot to the Eagles and Texans. I think the Colts should be too good at home.
Colts H2H ($1.80 at Ladbrokes)
Minnesota Vikings at Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins got their season off to a red hot start by winning their first three games but have since lost their last two. A main factor in those losses has been the absence of starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is expected to miss at least one more week. Despite that, I think three weeks is enough to build some continuity with back-up Skylar Thompson and I expect them to be better this week at home.
Dolphins +3 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are the best team in the league against the spread this season at 5-0 and I expect that trend to continue as they start as 4.5 point underdogs at home. Their average losing margin in their three losses this season is just 3.66 points.
Falcons +4.5 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks
This game screams overs to me. The Seahawhs have allowed the 2nd most points per game this season at 30.8 and seem willing to get into shootouts. There is arguably no team that loves a shootout more than the Cardinals. Back this one to be 50+ points.
Over 50.5 ($1.87 at Ladbrokes)
Carolina Panthers at Los Angeles Rams
Rams should be far too good at home here. They have had a very inconsistent season to date but they get a chance to find some form against a Panthers team that has looked like one of the easy beats through the early parts of the season. Back them to cover the 10 point spread.
Rams -10 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs
Saving the best until last here. Arguably the two best teams in the league will go at it in one of the 7.25am time-slots as the Chiefs host the Bills. It is the first time in Patrick Mahomes career that he has been an underdog at home, and that should be very appealing to all punters. Buying an extra point here to take this one to +3. Also really like the overs here.
Chiefs +3 ($1.80 at Bet365)
Over 54.0 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
