Cairns Taipans vs Illawarra Hawks
Saturday 5:30pm AEDT, November 11th, Cairns Convention Centre
Relentless injuries continue to plague the Cairns Taipans as they strive for momentum and of course wins in NBL24. They enter Round 7 on a two-game losing streak and will be without Patrick Miller and Bobi Klintman on Saturday night. Both players are key to their success and their absence will make it tough, although their 2-0 home record will give the squad some confidence. On the flip side, the healthy Hawks are without excuses heading into this clash and the time to lift is now. They’ve been poor this season to date and simply must win on the road in Round 7 to keep their season alive. The Hawks have burnt me quite a few times already in NBL24, but if they can’t defeat the injury-riddled Snakes on Saturday night there is simply no coming back. With that said, I’ll be giving them one last chance to redeem themselves.

Sydney Kings vs Brisbane Bullets
Sunday 4pm AEDT, November 12th, Qudos Bank Arena
The final game of Round 7 sees the Kings play hosts to the Bullets in Sydney. The Kings bounced back in a big way in Round 6 with a pair of impressive wins, including one against the Breakers in a Grand Final rematch from a season ago. The Kings now have a full complement of players to choose from including DJ Hogg who’s looking more and more comfortable in their system with every game. Elsewhere, the Bullets had their three-game win streak snapped with a loss last time out against the JackJumpers on the road. Aron Baynes is back firing and Nathan Sobey is playing some of his best ever basketball. However, they now must take on one of the powerhouses in the competition away from home. At this point in time, I can’t see the Bullets measuring up well against the Kings under these circumstances. Their current team points line is set at 88.5 and all recent stats suggest that number is simply too high.
