NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday January 28th 2025
Los Angeles Lakers at Charlotte Hornets
11am (AEDT)
The Los Angeles Lakers (25-18) will take on the Charlotte Hornets (12-30) at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte on Monday night. The Lakers have been on a roll, winning five of their last six games, with Anthony Davis and LeBron James leading the charge. Davis recently posted a 36-point, 13-rebound performance, while James added 25 points and 12 assists in the Lakers impressive win over the Warriors.
The Hornets, despite their struggles this season, have shown flashes of potential, winning four of their last six games. LaMelo Ball has been a standout, averaging 28.9 points per game and leading the team with his playmaking abilities.
Tough game to pick at the six point line here so I’m opting for a player prop instead. Anthony Davis has been on fire of late, putting up 29.7 points across his last three games. He also dominated the Hornets in their two game series last year, scoring 26.0 per game.

Milwaukee Bucks at Utah Jazz
1.00pm (AEDT)
The Milwaukee Bucks (25-18) will be looking to extend their five-game win streak as they take on the struggling Utah Jazz (10-33) at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. The Bucks have been impressive on the road, winning eight of their last ten games, while the Jazz have found it tough at home, winning just three of their last eighteen games.
The Bucks have been one of the better offenses in the league recently, scoring an average of 119.6 points per game over their last ten games, shooting 50.2% from the field. On the contrary, the Jazz have struggled on that side of the ball, scoring just 110.7 points across their last 10.
I think the Bucks should be too strong on the road here. The Jazz have been battling injuries to key players of late, and will likely have at least three key rotation players out again on Tuesday. Back the Bucks to win and cover the 8.5 point spread.
Bucks -8.5

Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns
1.30pm (AEDT)
The Suns are riding a four-game home win streak and will look to extend it against a Clippers team that has been solid in the Western Conference. Phoenix boasts a strong offensive record, averaging 115.2 points over their last 10 games, while the Clippers have been impressive defensively, allowing just 101.7 points per game during the same stretch. This clash will be a test of the Suns' offensive firepower against the Clippers' defensive resilience.
Key players to watch include Devin Booker for the Suns, who has been averaging 25.7 points per game, and Norman Powell for the Clippers, who has been a scoring machine with 21.6 points over his last 10 games. The Suns will also rely on their solid rebounding and assist numbers, while the Clippers will look to capitalize on their three-point shooting prowess. With both teams right around the bubble in the West, this matchup has big implications when it comes to the conference standings as we near the All-Star break.
I like the Suns at home here. They are 7-3 across their last 10 games, and have been really solid at home this year, maintaining a 14-8 record. On the contrary, the Clippers have been poor on the road this season at just 9-11 and have lost their last three straight games to the Suns.
