The Valley will host an eight-race program on Friday night and although the crowd won’t be as big as last week, it is sure to be another popular program. There has been a lot of rain around and the track will likely be a Soft6, and Race 1 is scheduled to start at 6:15pm (AEDT).

Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Friday, October 6th 2023
Race 1: Inglis Ready to Race Sale 10 October Plate - 6:15pm (AEDT)
(1) Alonso is a Zoustar chestnut who has been knocking on the door after placing in his last 3 starts. His defeats have only totaled 3.6L which suggests he is up to the mark and should be winning soon. He does tend to get back a bit in his races before running on well so racing on a tight circuit for the first time, Willow will have to bring him into the race earlier.
(3) Eugenius has run a 2nd on the Soft and did win a Mornington jumpout last month.
(4) Reprisal draws inside and ran a 3rd on debut (Soft) at Bendigo. Mott is on again.
(6) Elphinstone has placed on both Good and Soft tracks before. He has raced in a harder race than this last prep at Lakeside.
(1) Alonso - Win
$2.50 (3 Units)
Race 2: Centennial Property Group Handicap - 6:45pm (AEDT)
(3) Konasana has drawn well in barrier 2 and again should get a good run like she did in a slowly run race at Flemington last time (2nd). Lane stays on and the Dundeel filly who is going back in distance and she should improve further into the Spring.
(2) Chill The Krug likes Soft tracks having won and placed on them previously. Bosson is on and he is in form and from barrier 3 it will be interesting to see what the jockey does because he has been going back of late.
(5) Binotto ran on well last start in a slowly run race. Barrier 1 may not assist if she goes back gain though.
(7) Wings of Song got up by a nose at Swan Hill and may find this a lot harder. Was backed into $1.50 on that occasion so she must have ability.
(3) Konasana - Win
$2 (4 Units)
Race 3: Ingliss Pink Bonus Series Handicap - 7:15pm (AEDT)
(5) Savvy Valentino gets the nod here in a race that I’m not overly keen on. Its over 3000m and a few of the fancies have drawn wide. Savvy has been running on quite well though and is as tough as they come so might be worth something small. Maddison Lloyd gets the 2kg claim.
(3) Wudzz got tired at Flemington last start but goes up in distance for Henry Dwyer. Will be an interesting one to watch as he was backed last start.
(1) Ferago goes okay and won last start but Harry Grace has to carry 61kg in this.
(2) Nordic Pride may start fav and he had been in the top 3 in over half of this career starts.
No Tip
Race 4: Pink Lady Handicap - 7:45pm (AEDT)
(7) Affordable got a nice run in transit last start when 3rd at Flemington and he should get a similar run here from barrier 3. He drops 4kg in weight here for Gaudray which I think is the key. He is very fit now and a race of this caliber should be right on offer.
(4) Asgoodassobergets won a jumpout on the synthetic last week and has also won a race on it previously. This track will likely be Soft. Stockdale gets the 1.5kg claim.
(10) Fire Glo Too is a last start winner who can handle Soft tracks. Dee has won twice on him and he has won over this distance before.
(11) First Light is 1st emergency from the Waller stable who will be a big watch if runs.
(7) Affordable - Win
$3.50 (2 Units)
Race 5: Breast Cancer Australia Network Handicap - 8:15pm (AEDT)
(7) Little Eagle is an unbeaten Starcraft mare who is facing her toughest test to date here. Patrick Payne is training well and from barrier 4 Lafferty should be able to get a good run. Last start he was way too good at Seymour (Soft track) and this is a similar field though she has been penalised with an extra 2kg.
(5) Sirius Black has drawn wide in 11 but he has Mott on again who won on him last start (Hillside). Has run a 1st and 2nd in his pair of starts on the Soft.
(6) Kailash ran on into 2nd behind Little Eagle last start and will be running on again from the draw (12).
(9) North Channel may be the leader here for Team Hayes and he did win well (2L) at Swan Hill last start.
(7) Little Eagle - Win
$2.90 (2 Units)
Race 6: Ladbrokes 55 second challenge Handicap Heat 2 - 8:45pm (AEDT)
(1) Fission is resuming and does go very well at this track having won twice before from 5 starts. He has drawn wide (14) but he does usually get back anyway before unleashing a powerful finish. He was unplaced in his last 3 runs prior to a spell but he is a horse who goes better fresh.
(6) Young Liam likes this distance and has raced here on 15 occasions. It's his second home. Is resuming and can measure up.
(12) Cavallo Rampante gets back in his races and finishes off hard. Does see The Valley for the first time though under race conditions.
(9) The Javelin trialed well but will probably need a drier track.
(1) Fission - Win
$4.20 (2 Units)
Race 7: PJA Accountants & Business Advisors Handicap - 9:15pm (AEDT)
(5) Frilled is unbeaten and can lead again here from barrier 6. He was $1.40 when leading all of the way at Kembla Grange and Ollie will endeavor to control the speed here. Has won on the Soft so conditions should be fine.
(6) Cute As has won on the Soft and was 6th in a harder race than this last time behind Cardigan Queen. 1 from 1 over the distance.
(4) Sans Doute will want the track to dry out on the Friday. He is resuming and does go well fresh.
(3) Apres La Mer was 3rd here on December 31 and can run a forward race fresh. Has had 4 fair jumpouts leading in so is fit enough.
(5) Frilled - Win
$2.20 (3 Units)
Race 8: 30XY Group Handicap - 9:45pm (AEDT)
(7) Calico Jack gets the blinkers back on and has drawn well in this event (1) which should see him settle on speed. He ha raced in Group company before so will find this somewhat easier. First try at The Valley is of slight concern but at the odds he is worth a small play to finish off the night.
(8) Ettiene will probably lead and will try and dictate here. Bosson is on and he has won 2 from 3 starts on the Soft.
(9) Miso is better than recent form and was backed right in at Geelong 2 starts back (last).
(12) Stupendo is a sneaky chance if the track dries out and he gains a run.
(7) Calico Jack - Win
$8 (1 Unit)
