Moonee Valley Racing Tips – Friday, March 25th 2023
Race 5 – Sunline Stakes (Group 2)
(1) Barb Raider should turn the tables on Sirileo Miss here. She drew gate 10 last time and sat outside Sirileo Miss the whole way. She’s drawn inside here and can keep Sirileo Miss out or find her back which should give her every opportunity to beat that horse and win this race.
(3) Cliff’s Art got a dream run last time in Sydney but did finish around the mark of some talented horses including Roots, Thalassophile and Pink Ivory. Sydney form often stacks up well down south so interested to see how Cliff’s Art performs.
(2) Sirileo Miss cannot be left out after trotting in last time beating Barb Raider in the process. She’ll have a few more things against her this time and may have to work a bit harder for the win but there’s no reason she can’t go back-to-back if she turns up on Saturday.

Race 7 – William Reid (Group 1)
(1) Masked Crusader is one from one over this trip having won this race 2 years ago. He’s capable of winning again after contesting an 1100m Oakleigh which was not suitable for this horse at all at Sandown last time. The price is enormous for such a talented runner and if class prevails it could well be this horse storming over the top late.
(11) Imperatriz was 2nd to Artorious last time who was then game in defeat behind Anamoe in the George Ryder. The drop to 1200m looks suitable here and provided she handles the tight turns of Moonee Valley, she’s going to be hard to beat.
(5) In The Congo has the prime setup for a horse racing over 1200m at Moonee Valley. Gate 1 and plenty of early pace to lead or sit handy. That alone will take this horse a long way and if he gets an easy time of it he’s more than capable of taking this out.

Race 8 – Alexandra Stakes (Group 3)
(2) Jenny Jerome is capable of overthrowing Papillon Club here. She was clearly travelling last start at Flemington with absolutely nowhere to go in the straight. She’s drawn well tonight and with room to move can give the favourite a run for her money who is definitely too short.
(1) Papillon Club is clearly the horse to beat. That said, the current price on offer is far too short with Jenny Jerome a strong danger and numerous other promising types in this event which only need to improve marginally to be very competitive.
(6) Tass bolted in last time breaking her maiden. This is a much deeper race for her to contest now but she’s earned a shot at the big bucks and will lead which should give her every opportunity if she’s good enough.
(2) Jenny Jerome - Win
