Night racing at Moonee Valley continues this Friday with an eight-race card bringing in the Lunar New Year Powered by Alinta Energy. The meeting will showcase the much-anticipated sprint race that’ll be held over the 888m as a nod to Chinese culture.
The first event on the card will be run at 6:15pm (AEDT), before the last will round out the program at the traditional 9:45pm slot. Expect the track to be rated a Good 4 throughout, with the rail also out 6m.

Race 3: That’s Better Mdn Plate (7:15pm AEDT)
(10) Happy Link has been the talk of the town out of a recent trial and is all the rage here commanding favouritism. Draws the cherry to boot and can kick start her career in winning style.
(6) Quebeck showed terrific gate speed to lead them up last start on debut at Bendigo, before a strong trial at Cranbourne. Up in trip over the 1200m here, but will be fitter for the run and race experience now on her side.
(4) Fury straps up on the second line of betting and with good reason. Mapped to sit close enough to the front and if Jordan Childs can find clear running room before the turn he’ll be in the money again.
(10) Happy Link

Race 5: Award Winning (8:15pm AEDT)
(1) Dubai Moon snapped a 14-race losing streak at Hanging Rock, before her picket fence-like form since now sees the 6yo Gelding on the brink of a handful of wins. Can figure.
(6) Kentucky Nick is mapped to get the gun run from one of the inside stalls. Drawn to do no work in transit and save up his petrol tickets for the charge to the line.
(5) Roaring Engine has hit winning form and can go in with it for the O’Brien camp. Blake Shinn earns the sit this time around which can only boost its chances here.
(1) Dubai Moon

Race 8: Sustainable Energy (9:45pm AEDT)
(11) Catahoula shares equal favouritism in an open affair to round out the night, with the Flemington trained Filly earning top spot in my selections amongst the 13-horse field.
(14) Bahama Bay lines up as a narrow second hope in my eyes, due to the fact it’s now a run deeper into its campaign and all the fitter as a result, even after winning at Moe last outing.
(11) Catahoula
$4.80 (1 Unit)
