It should be a big night of racing at The Valley on Friday night with expected beautiful weather in Melbourne this weekend.
Race one is at 6:15pm and the track will be rated a Good 4.
Brendan Bunworth has four best bets on the card and the first one is in the opener, a filly trained by Mark & Levi Kavanough. Check out his best racing tips below!
Moonee Valley Racing Tips - Friday, February 10th 2023
Race 1
(11) Stateswoman has drawn beautifully in barrier 2 and Blake Shinn will be able to lead on the Churchill/National Anthem filly like she did when 2nd at Wangaratta last time out. She was backed into $2.20 on that occasion and she will have admirers again after the draw. She had barrier 8 at Wang and had to get across and used a little more petrol than Teo Nugent would have liked but on Friday night she should be able to lead without pressure.
(10) New York Scandal was a lot better at Moe last start when beaten half a length and with fitness on his side, the Laing team will want a truly run affair so she can run on.
(4) Highland Falcon is second up and will be fitter for her 2nd at Geelong two weeks ago. It does seem like she will settle on speed but does have barrier 9.
(1) Devoted Poet for the Waller stable has had a freshen up and this one has never missed a placing to date. Should be in the top 4 here but this race seems a little harder than a couple of her others.
(11) Stateswoman WIN
$3 (2 Units)
Race 2
(1) Traduce hasn't won in his last 10 starts but Damien Oliver stays on the Mike Moroney gelding who has finished midfield in his last couple in slightly stronger races than this. It's his 4th start for Moroney and the trainer has given him a freshen up and I think there is improvement this time at around the $5 mark. He ran some decent races in Brisbane last year and is one of the more interesting runners of the evening.
(5) Jumpin’ Jaguar got the money at Camperdown before running a nice 3rd at Geelong last start. He is fit and the Good surface suits.
(6) Accountability is similar to Traduce. He hasn't won in a long time but was a pretty good racehorse 12 months ago and has to be given some respect. He won a Camperdown jumpout earlier in the week and improvement wont surprise.
(7) Sunday Buzz is the likely favourite after placing less than a length behind the winner in his last couple. On that quick back up and Jamie Kah takes the ride.
(1) Traduce WIN
$4 (1 Unit)
Race 6
(6) Jennilala goes well fresh and after a 10-week spell, she will be ready to go over a distance that she has previously won over. She won a jumpout last week at Avoca and and prior to that she just jogged around Camperdown to gain some fitness. Her latest jumpout proves that she is ready and from barrier 6 she will likely settle midfield for Ethan Brown.
(4) Extravagant Choice won well after leading all of the way at Cranbourne last start and Ben Allen may try the same jump and run tactics again.
(7) Amati is in an easier race than last time but she might not be fit enough yet. She has won over the distance though.
(9) Adamant has the inside barrier and has Kah on. Was beaten a neck at Pakenham on January 25 and she should run well.
(6) Jennilala WIN
$4 (1 Unit)
Race 8
(2) Bella Sorellina was 3rd at The Valley last start and was only beaten half a length. Having seen the track I think she is ready to win again and Celine Guadray should be able to give her a nice run from barrier 6. Before The Valley run it was two wins in a row after settling third and I think she should be able to sit on pace again.
(4) Miss Middle Park ran a good 4th at Flemington last start when beaten less than a length and she does like racing over this distance.
(11) Everylittle Breeze got tired over the concluding stages and Cranbourne last start when 4th therefore has dropped back to the 1200m.
(1) Jillette has a wide barrier to contend with (11) but was a lot better last start at this track when 4th. To win though, Thomas Stockdale is going to have to ride the race of his life.
(2) Bella Sorellina WIN
$4.20 (2 Units)
