Ipswich Race 1
Not going to be a regular occurrence to use our best bet in maiden races but the first race does not contain all that many chances and NICCI’S SPIRIT looks a great bet to kick off the program and if we can manage to increase our bank with that little bit extra happy to take it.
She was good around the tight Ipswich track on debut and although did few things wrong just found one better.
She started favourite here last start and found herself in a nice position but she just wanted to overrace and that was costly as it gave her nothing left over final stages and she found a couple better.
Expect the Tony Gollan stable will have her primed to break her maiden before seasons end and she will not get a better chance than this.
Ipswich Race 8
GOT MY THRILLS has been scratched as an emergency from Race 4, and will instead lineup in Race 8 to finish the meet.
She strung together a string of minor placings on the bigger track at Sunshine Coast before coming to Ipswich last start and was backed into a short priced favourite.
Once she found the front she controlled the race and slipped away from the corner with a sharp turn-of-hoof. A couple got close to her late but she was too speedy.
This is a track that suits those sitting up on the pace and she certainly has the tactically speed to cross from her barrier and be up front.
Looking for her to again steal a break from the corner and she can make it two straight.
If she starts to tire late we still have our Race Rescue to fall back on.
