We’ve got good racing throughout the country today with a strong meeting at Warwick Farm as well as Sandown playing host to an 8 race card.
As usual, Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the day’s racing and brings you his best bets to get us over the midweek hump!
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, June 2nd
Warwick Farm Race 2
(1 Verne was hard in the market on debut and was good running 2nd to a handy one. Looked to be doing best work late that day and should take a stack of improvement from that performance. Hopefully Berry can find a good position up near the speed from the wide gate and show a good turn of foot when needed.
Warwick Farm Race 3
Have really liked the trials of (2) Electric in the lead up to his debut today. Has been given a pretty quiet ride in both of them but looks to be a horse with some abaility. Should be able to find a good spot in behind the speed from the inside draw and this looks a very winnable maiden.
Warwick Farm Race 6
(5) Bethencourt should have probably won last start on the Kensington track but ran into plenty of traffic in the straight. Did well to finish as close as he did and has been running well this prep. Has been building to a peak performance and should be rock hard fit now 3rd up getting out to 1600m. Jmac sticks for the ride and should be able to keep him out of trouble from barrier 8.
Sandown Race 1
No flash odds but the exposed form of (9) Write The Score is very hard to look past here. Has run well behind Galactic Fury and Butter Chicken who have since gone on to run and win some strong races. Gets Jamie Kah on board and this looks an ideal race for her to break the maiden tag today.

Sandown Race 3
(2) Spooning comes into this after finishing 3rd behind Cherry Tortoni in the Adelaide Guineas. She clearly has plenty of scope to improve and a repeat anywhere near that kind of performance will see her too good for this lot. Looks ready and primed 3rd up today and Jamie Kah takes the ride. Won maiden by 4L two starts back at Pakenham and is a horse who can go on to win some bigger and better races.
