We’ve got some strong midweek racing throughout the country on Wednesday with a quality meeting at Randwick-Kensington as well as Sandown playing host to an eight-race card.
As usual, Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the day’s racing and brings you his best racing tips to get us over the midweek hump!
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, June 16th
Randwick Race 2
(3) Duchy Of Savoy was last seen at Caulfield on Australia Day, finishing 4th in the G3 Blue Diamond Preview behind the likes of Dosh, Tayla’s Moment and Frost Flowers. That form is clearly outstanding on paper and she has recently trialled very well at Rosehill. The stable clearly have an opinion of her and I think she looks a massive chance and I am happy to bet at the price on offer.
Randwick Race 3
Not much meat on the bone but (4) Skedaddle looks one of the more certain bets around the country today. Was a very good winner on debut when well supported as a short-priced favourite and has since trailed up nicely. The stable have taken their time with this horse and I think she will go on to win bigger and better races than this. Looks a solid anchor leg for any multis throughout the day.
Randwick Race 6
Pretty keen on the QLD visitor in (4) Gin ‘n’ Bitters who has built a handy record up North and am interested to see how he measures up down here. Has plenty of speed and usually puts his best performances in when 1st up from a spell. So long as the track isn’t any worse than a Soft 7 I think this horse looks very hard to beat today. Has won a recent trial impressively and has form around Niedorp and some other handy horses from up North.

Sandown Race 5
(4) Lindhout clearly has talent but has just managed to get herself into some tricky scenarios this prep. She hasn’t drawn well or has just gotten too far back in races but has always flashed home to catch the eye. Keen to see a senior jockey finally ride her and Dee should be able to slot in and hopefully she can show that turn of foot and be strongest late. Getting out to the mile for the first time is some sort of query but looks ready for it now 4th up.
Sandown Race 7
Think (5) Scantoon can go on with it here following two very good runs this prep. Ran a good 2nd at Cranbourne behind Seb Song before holding on to beat Vainly at this trip last start. Has almost an identical setup here today and will not mind any sting out of the ground with a bit of rain around. Should roll forward and should still be on an upward trend this prep.
