Another solid Wednesday of racing is upon us with good meetings at Randwick-Kensington and Sandown where we can hopefully find a few winners.
Billy Bestford has had a look across the three meetings and has found his best bets for the day.
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 25th
Randwick-Kensington Race 2
Been pretty impressed with the trials of (3) Omni Man who makes his debut for a strong stable. He showed good speed in two of those trials and won impressively without really being asked to go full throttle. Looks above average and has the best front-running jockey in the business on board.
Randwick-Kensington Race 4
(2) Brookspire is a smart horse and looks to have come back in good order following a nice trial behind Atishu. That horse has since come out and made it’s mark last Saturday with a big win. He started single figures in the G1 Australasian Oaks last prep so clearly he is well placed back in this grade. Strong record this track/trip.
Sandown Race 4
(4) The Garden is an exciting prospect, with two wins and two placings from four career starts he looks a horse on the up with plenty more wins in store. Bolted in either side of a good run in a strong race at Caulfield and now looks ready for 1400m. Rolls forward and takes luck out of the equation and the claim for the apprentice is a big positive, looking well placed with just 59kg on his back. He can win here and go on to better races.
Sandown Race 6
This will be the first time (4) Ghodeleine gets a senior rider on her back this prep and she has been flying. Finished a very good 3rd behind the smart Hosier last start over 2000m and looks primed getting out to this slightly longer trip today. Barrier 1 is a slight query but hoping with a good ride she will just be better than these.
Randwick-Kensington Race 6
Don’t see any reason for jumping off (6) Toomuchtobear who has been flying this prep. Goes in search of a third straight win and while up in grade, he gets a drop in weight from a dominant last start win. Should be able to sit up off the speed from barrier 5 and I think he will be winning again.
