Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday April 7th
Sale Race 4
(6) Lindhout was a smart debut winner and looks to have plenty of talent. She missed the start before rounding up the leaders and winning by almost 2 lengths. This looks the logical step up in grade and the form out of her debut win has been good. Looks one of the best bets anywhere today.
Sale Race 8
Thinking that (8) Quietly Discreet will be a big improver here 2nd up onto a dry track. Was okay in the same grade last start and will strip fitter for this today. Is 1/1 when 2nd up in her short career and can take the next step in this race. Her two career wins have come over this distance as well as on a good track. Looks to have plenty of upside compared to some of her rivals. Think (1) Gennady can run a race fresh. Has shown plenty of promise and performs well 1st up. A recent jump out around some top line horses shows he is ready to go here.
(1) Gennady E/W $8.50/$2.50
(8) Quietly Discreet
$2.45
Canterbury Race 7
Pretty keen on (4) Lina’s Hero here who comes out of a hot form race at Rosehill a few Saturday’s ago. The horses who beat him that day - Yao Dash and Starspangled Rodeo have both come out and won good races last weekend at Rosehill. Yao Dash is now currently 3rd favourite for Saturday’s Doncaster Mile. That form is as good as you’ll get for a race like this and a repeat close to that performance makes him extremely hard to beat. Is now ready to peak 3rd up since arriving in Aus from HK and the current $3.70 looks a great price and thinking he starts much shorter.
Canterbury Race 8
Probably the race of the day to round out the card with some quality horses facing off. Thinking (11) Mr Mosaic can take some catching carrying only 52kg after the claim. Was electric fresh, going straight to the lead and not looking like getting caught. Will look to do something similar here with the light weight. Admittedly it’s a step up in grade now which he has to cope with but at the price I am keen to find out. (1) Adelong is a horse I’ve always had time for and has performed well in much tougher races than this. Took on some black type races last prep after a faultless preparation running in similar races to this. She’s pretty much unbeaten back in this sort of grade. Has trialled well in the lead up to this can give this a massive shake at a big price.
