Horse Racing Tips: Sunday, May 10th
Ballarat Race 1 - (Market)
(8) Spring Break was on debut at Geelong two weeks ago on a soft track, he was very heavily backed late from $4 into an SP of $3.30 with the official price. After settling well back in the field, he was held-up approaching the turn when the runs came, made steady ground but clearly had a lot to learn. He also featured in the steward’s report with coughing post-race. He has the wide draw here but will get back anyway, should appreciate getting on the bigger track here and out in trip. Look for him late down the centre of the track.
Ballarat Race 4 - (Market)
(10) Exact Replica has been up for a long time, this is officially her eighth start at her first prep, I don’t think a stable like Cumming’s Godolphin yard would keep her going if she wasn’t thriving being in work. She has some tactical speed so I expect with the good gate and the jockey change (Dunn replacing Brad Rawiller), she can settle closer. She was good through the line last time at Pakenham, this is not a strong maiden and she looks a great each-way bet to nothing. (8) Stretto looks too short in the market, no doubt the colt can win and the stable is flying, getting back in the run and fresh, I couldn’t have him at the current quote.

Wellington Race 2 - (Market)
(3) Cloud Factory is an interesting runner having his first start for the Stephen Edwards stable at Dubbo. He only has a small team and hasn’t exactly got results that jump off the table with no winners from 15 starters over the last 12 months, so I would like to see some money for him. The Snitzel gelding was formerly trained by John O’Shea, he didn’t show much in three starts over two campaigns back at the provincials. He has had a recent trial at Narromine, he jumped well enough, was stuck wide and shuffled out the back. He worked to the line well between runners without being tested. The margin was large, but it was an open trial and those that crossed the line together out in front, are much better performed horses. A replay of the trial can be found here.
Wagga Race 3 - (Market)
(3) Signal Hill is first-up for the Mitch Beer stable down the Highway at Albury. She went to the races four times at her first prep before going to the paddock. She had been getting back in her races last time in and does have the tricky inside draw, she should get a very economical run and only needs to get a split somewhere early in the long straight. She will probably improve on what she does here, she has trialed well enough and think she can do enough to at least get into a place fresh.
