Horse Racing Tips: Sunday, April 26th
Geelong Race 2 - (Market)
There are 4 debutants in this race and we are going with one that I feel has been good enough at the jump-outs. (4) National Choice is a son of Snitzel has had two unofficial trials at Caulfield in back-]to-back weeks, winning them both. The latest was particularly impressive, he sat behind the speed before angling wide and being revved up. He ran through the line well to score in what was the fastest of the day apart from the open class horses. A replay of that can be found here. He jumped well in his first appearance and sat up outside the speed on the heavy track. He looks to have versatility and handles all conditions, Olly rides and he shouldn’t be a maiden for long. The best of the raced brigade looks to be (9) Daisy Cakes but happy to take her on. She was across the border in SA last start, although it was at Listed level, she had a soft run and failed to run on at all.

Geelong Race 6 - (Market)
(5) Dark Alley was a maiden three starts ago when going to Geelong, he was well backed and after getting a gun run, was strong to win by almost 2 lengths with more than 5 back to third. He then stepped out of maiden grade at Morphetville getting out past the 2000m for the first time, was well ridden again and after starting a long run from the 800m mark, ran to the lead and was an easy winner. He was then thrown in the deep-end last start in the G2 Adelaide Cup, he was mid-field in the run and although he lost his position mid-race, was good enough into fourth without ever looking likely. He was only a $10 chance in that, drops a stack in grade and with Willow taking the ride and back in trip, he looks a good thing.
Goulburn Race 1 - (Market)
(2) Duty has opened as the favourite for this, I am very happy about that as I want to bet right around him. He is a 4-start maiden that has speed, he was beaten as a very short-priced fave at Wyong last start, he led and was run down missing a place. He doesn’t look suited getting out to the bigger track here. (3) Chewie Two has had two starts, he over-raced on debut at Gosford and there were a few other excuses, he then came here on the good track last start and got a mile back, was held-up when the runs came and exploded late and was a real eye-catcher and went straight into the black book. He gets out to the 6 furlongs which looks ideal, respect any money for the debutant (4) Rodrick’s Secret.
Goulburn Race 4 - (Market)
It looks a very open race on paper, I like the way that (8) Blue Tattoo returned from a spell at Nowra two weeks ago. He was very easy in the betting after opening favourite over what was probably an unsuitably shorter trip. He settled mid-field and took a while to balance up but once he did, he was very strong late to score narrowly but impressively. Both his wins have been fresh which is a little concerning but getting out in trip looks advantageous and should settle closer, just off the lead. He looks a great each-way bet at the double figure odds.
