We’ve got a proper Spring day of racing all around the country today with meetings at Kembla Grange and Flemington headlining the day’s action.
The Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes will headline the day at Flemington while the Run To The Rose looks like an extremely hot field at Kembla Grange.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the meetings and has found his best bets to help you have a fill up this Saturday.
Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, September 11th
Kembla Grange Race 2
Been keen to follow (1) Mankayan since his first Australian run where he flew from the back to run a good 2nd. Barrier didn’t help him last start but he still ran well for another placing and finally draws a gate today. Bowman sticks and he’s ready to produce a peak performance 3rd up. This is an easier race than he took on last start and the market has smashed him early.
Flemington Race 2
No prizes for finding it but (1) Artorius looks probably the best bet anywhere in the country today. Every man and his dog has tipped him but following that first up run, they won’t be beating him here. Let down late to really suggest he’s going to love getting to 1400m here and bolted in at his only 2nd up run previously. Everything just aligns for him to be winning here and I’d honestly be shocked if he didn’t. Looks the anchor for all multi’s across the land today.
Kembla Grange Race 6
(4) Entriviere looks a cracking bet here as he draws a nice gate for the first time in Australia. This horse has had no luck last prep in the G2 Sapphire and was beaten by the wide draw there. She’s a very smart mare and as her record shows, she’s yet to miss the quinella in 7 starts and arguably should be unbeaten. Jmac knows the horse well and she loves the 1200m.
Flemington Race 5
(2) Ayrton has taken all before him in his career so far, and just keeps winning and running serious time. His first up win was that of a serious horse, running some lighting quick late sectionals, which were better than anything in the G1 Memsie on the same day. He’s obvious a group class horse and this race is another he can tackle and win without much issue. Draws perfectly in 6 and John Allen rode him last start perfectly so he should know exactly what he’s got under him. Looks better than these and is one of the most exciting horses in the country at the moment!
Flemington Race 6
(1) Instant Celebrity looks one of the best on the card and is ready to let rip 2nd up. Was a big run fresh, finishing just behind Probabeel but was taking ground of her the further they went. Yes to 1400m, Willo sticks for the ride, she’s got an impeccable record 2nd up and over this trip and while she draws wide I expect her to be too strong late. Think she looks the best placed out of many of her main rivals here and the price at the moment looks a steal.
