Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, November 21st
Ballarat Race 7
This looks the best bet on the card at Ballarat. (3) Right You Are started favourite first up at Flemington during Cup week and flew home to be beaten 0.3L. That was after trainer Mick Price had come out pre-race and said he doubted he could win as he was probably a gallop short. That run should have him spot on for this, and if he’s improved as much as I think he might have, then he should be winning this. He’s never missed the placings, he’s down in grade and looks a great bet at $2.50. I think the value in the race is (1) Heavenly Emperor. I backed him first up at Flemington and his run was full of merit given he was trapped four-wide the trip. I noted that day that he may just be a run short and that second up at 1600m would be ideal. That’s what he gets today and at $20 he is outstanding value.
Value: (1) Heavenly Emperor $20
Kembla Grange Race 8
I think there’s a couple at decent odds here. (3) Soldier Of Love was well backed first up from $9.00 into $6.50, but had no luck in the straight, caught behind a tiring leader in the latter stages. He’s got a great second up record with two wins from three starts and he’s never missed a place at this distance. I think $9.00 is a decent bet about him. (8) Elaborate won well first up on the heavy 10 at Rosehill and his only previous start over this track and distance was a win. He can go close once again.
(3) Solder Of Love E/W
$9.00
Ascot Race 7
The Jungle Mist Classic is one of the supporting feature races at Ascot and there’s two horses I’ll be backing. (1) Flower Of War is thrown into this race at the weights, with a 2.5kg spread from top to bottom, and she’s rated 10 points superior to the next highest rated horse. She excels over this track and distance with four wins from five starts, Chris Parnham jumps on and she should be very tough to run down. (9) Ration Aly looks the value at $8.00. She’s won four of her five career starts and has a big finish on her. She’s fresh from a break since her last win but she should enjoy a good run throughout and she will be very competitive at a good price.
Value: (9) Ration Aly $8.00
