What a day we have instore for us punters with some of the top horses in the country going toe-to-toe with each other today. The day is headlined by the riches of the All Star Mile at Moonee Valley while we have the Group 1 Coolmore Classic for the girls at Rosehill. There are plenty of winners to be found and a few at some nice prices which I am keen to get stuck into. The weather is once again a bit of a guessing game but I am thinking we will be on the dry side of a soft track in both states (hopefully!).

Horse Racing Tips - Saturday March 13th
Rosehill Race 1
There’s no rest for us as we kick the day off with one that isn’t too hard to find but looks halfway over the line in my opinion.
(4) Great House has shown plenty of promise for Chris Waller since arriving from the UK and looks ready to win today. Comes into this off the back of a massive run in a much stronger bm88 where he started the $2.50 favourite that day. Things just didn’t work out in the run but he absolutely rocketed home to almost snatch the win and I can see only bad luck getting in his way here. Draws a barrier today and will be able to sit much closer in transit and will hopefully be the difference for him. As mentioned it’s not a groundbreaking selection but looks a safe way to kick start a massive day.
Moonee Valley Race 3
Happy to side with the race-fit (2) Too Close To The Sun in this staying race over 2040m. Was obviously outgunned and outpaced in the G1 Futurity last start but now steps up to a much more suitable distance and will give this a massive shake. Absolutely flies with a run under his belt with the 2nd up record reading 4:3-1-0. Ran well in some top line G1’s back home in WA towards the end of last prep so clearly has the class to win a race like this.
(1) Persan looks the obvious danger with a last start 5th in the Melbourne Cup if you don’t mind. Happy to oppose him in this case as he takes on some fit horses and will get better as the prep goes on. TCTTS ticks all the boxes here today and I’ll be surprised if he isn’t fighting out the finish.

Rosehill Race 5
Keen on the chances of the Lees-trained (9) Wandabaa in this 1100m dash. This horse has matched motors with some of the top liners going around and improved dramatically last preparation. Trialled like a jet where she went past Mugatoo and is unbeaten in all first up performances. Enjoys the sting out of the track but is also versatile enough to run well on top of the ground so the weather poses no issues either way. Expect her to get back from barrier 4 and have the last shot at them in what looks like a race with a fair amount of speed engaged. Super honest horse having only missed the placing 3 times in 18 career starts and I think he could be in for another big prep this time around.
Rosehill Race 6
This race has changed shape a little with some key scratchings but the one I’m interested in stays in and looks a massive chance. (1) Poland is a lightly raced colt for Mike Moroney and looks like he might have put it all together and can go on to win some big races. Comes into this after winning the G2 Autumn Stakes in impressive fashion where he beat horses such as Young Werther and Jet Propulsion. Is a bulletproof kind of horse where he can lead or sit just off the speed and has such a high cruising speed but can find a kick once asked for it. Barrier 1 offers all the favours and I am pretty certain he will start favourite over main rival (9) Impecuniuos. The form has stacked up out of his last start with the horse he beat in Amish Boy coming out and running a huge race in the G1 Newmarket last week. Ticks plenty of boxes today and am keen to bet.
Rosehill Race 7 - Coolmore Classic
Well here it is, the G1 Coolmore Classic for the girls and this is as tough a race to dissect as you’ll get. So many differing form lines and from what we’ve seen in recent weeks, you can’t count out any of them. Will be having a couple of bets in this race with plenty of value on offer. Happy to bet around the favourite in (9) Forbidden Love just for the fact that personally she looks under the odds and I think we can find something at a decent price.
The one that interests me most is (11) All Saint’s Eve. The O’shea trained mare couldn’t have come back in better order after rocketing home first up behind Think It Over and Criaderas where she ran the second fastest last 600m of the day. Screaming out for the extra trip so the step to 1500m looks perfect and draws nicely in gate 7. Avdulla will have every favour from the draw and I think she is a massive chance here at EW odds.
With the weather looking like it may dry the track out by race time, (14) Challiot has to come into calculations. Was off the map when fresh and duly saluted winning a G3 in good style. Has been competitive in G1’s previously and if she has taken any improvement from last start she will give this a shake. Another who will be hoping the track can stay dry is (4) Madam Rouge who has been huge in her first two runs this prep. I like the quick back up from last weekend dropping out of the G1 Canterbury Stakes and I won’t be losing on her today.
Also Backing: (14) Challiot ($7.00) & (4) Madam Rouge E/W ($17/$4.80)
(11) All Saint’s Eve E/W
$13/$4
Moonee Valley Race 8 - All Star Mile
We jump straight into the feature race in Melbourne with the $5m All Star Mile and again, it is a seriously open affair. Earlier in the week I would've just tipped Arcadia Queen in an instant but she has now been sensationally scratched after pre-race vets inspections.
Happy to side with the in-form NZ mare in (11) Probabeel who is a genuine star of the sport. She has towelled up her rivals since arriving in Australia this time around winning the G3 Bellmaine easily and then going on to win a hot G1 Futurity in strong fashion. Has not put a foot wrong and you cannot knock this horse one bit. I am hoping the afternoon rain stays away but she can handle a bit of give in the track no worries. This has been a long-term target from the stable and Jamie Richards will have his star mare ready to fire for this.
The other horse I am keen to back is (6) Mugatoo who gets into this race with a wildcard and I’m glad she did because she looks a massive chance. Ran well in the Apollo Stakes fresh and now gets up to the mile which she will enjoy. Does her best racing with a run under the belt and anything near the Cox Plate performance will give this a massive shake at almost $10.
Also Backing: (6) Mugatoo E/W ($9.50)
