We’ve got a cracking day of racing all around the country today with quality meetings at Rosehill and Flemington while Eagle Farm will play host to the Group 1 Queensland Oaks.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the meetings and has found his best bets to help you have a fill up this Saturday.
Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, June 5th
Rosehill Race 3
(10) Wicklow was very impressive when winning on his Australian debut, coming from well back in the field to bolt in. Looks a smart type in the making and will be even more suited getting over more ground here today. The horse he beat in that last start has since come out and won so the form looks good. Will get the dream run from gate 5 and with natural progression, should be winning again.
Rosehill Race 6
(2) Love Tap was a complete forgive run first up in Queensland where he jumped a short-priced favourite. Was trapped wide throughout and stuck on well so should only be fitter from that. We know this horse has plenty of talent and looks to get a much better run in transit today. Hope they can be more positive on him with less speed in this race and looks suited out t0 1500m. Personally I think he is a better dry track horse, and although he does handle all conditions, should improve back on top of the ground today.
Flemington Race 2
(3) Snickerdoodledandy loomed as the winner last start in the straight before being run over the top of late. Has now put together two good runs for Moody since joining the stable from WA and looks just about ready to peak 3rd up and finds Jamie Kah. Looks to be genuine speed in the race which should suit her pattern and hoping Kah can get her into the clear at the right time and she will be strong late.
(3) Snickerdoodledandy
$2.70
Flemington Race 5
Very keen to see (8) Rubisaki back to her beloved Flemington track. She deadset gains an extra length or two here and now gets out to 1400m 4th up from a spell, where she has had so much success. Not sure what to make of last start but if you can forgive there, a repeat of her 3rd in the G1 Sangster two back will go very close to winning this today. Brings different formlines than a lot of her key rivals and I am happy to give her another chance.
Flemington Race 7
The form around (3) Reuber is outstanding and the horse is absolutely banging the door down for a win. Three straight placings, with the last two as close as you’ll get just shows this horse is flying. The horse that beat him last start went to QLD last week and ran very will in the G1 Derby. Is still only stuck on the one career win but I think today can be his day. Looks a pretty weak race outside the top few in the market and Reuber looks in as good a form as any in this race.
