We’ve got a solid day of racing all around the country today with meetings at Randwick and Caulfield, as well as Eagle Farm playing host to the last Group 1 of the season in the Tatts Tiara.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the meetings and has found his best bets across the country.
Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, June 26th
Caulfield Race 1
Hoping we can get the cash early with (2) Jigsaw who showed plenty of promise in his debut preparation. Took on the elite-level 2 year olds in the Blue Diamond Prelude and the G1 Blue Diamond where he was far from disgraced finished 4L off Artorius. Funnily enough he actually beat that horse on debut very comfortably over this trip on debut. If he is anywhere near his best he looks extremely hard to hold out.
Randwick Race 4
(4) Zing has been costly this prep but is yet to run a bad race, filling the minor money in all three starts. Beaten less than a length in her last two and rarely runs a bad race. Will enjoy the sting out of the ground and this race doesn’t look to have too much depth. Providing she can run the trip, she will be winning.
Caulfield Race 5
Very keen to see (6) I’m Thunderstruck again, after bolting in fresh on a heavy track at Sale. Was a winner on debut at this track on dry ground and looks a very progressive type. Been running strong times and I’d imagine this horse has some black-type races in store following today. The stable thought highly enough to throw him into the Autumn Stakes at his second start over this trip, starting well in the market before running 5th behind the likes of Poland and Amish Boy. Gets down in weight today off last start and should be winning.

Randwick Race 7
(10) Great House was extremely good when winning fresh at Rosehill over a trip short of his best. There was so much to like off the back of that run, and I am keen to be with him now out to 1800m. Steps up in grade but on paper this race looks no harder than what he has come out of and boasts plenty of upside compared to a lot of his key rivals here. Draws perfectly in gate 6 and is 2/2 second up. Hard to knock.
Eagle Farm Race 7
Heading North for one here and I’m really keen on the chances of (6) Shooting For Gold who resumes off a 5 month break. Was taking on the elite-level at the back end of last prep, running in the 3yo Magic Millions and was far from disgraced. Hadn’t missed the quinella in six straight starts before taking on those black type races and this looks a nice starting point for his prep. Won a trial in the lead up to this in convincing fashion and should be winning.
