We’ve got a decent winter’s day of racing all around the country today with meeting at Rosehill, Flemington and the Sunshine Coast headlining the day’s action.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the meetings and has found his best bets to help you have a fill up this Saturday.
Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, July 3rd
Rosehill Race 3
(2) No Compromise has adapted to Australian racing extremely well, and looks a promising type for Chris Waller. Beat Stockman two back over this trip and that form looks better each week. Many thought the drop to 2000 last start was a big query but he showed plenty of versatility and came away with a strong win yet again. Just looks an adaptable kind of horse and should get every favour with Berry to ride. This race looks no tougher than what he’s been going around in recently and should be right in the thick of it yet again.
Sunshine Coast Race 2
(11) East Asia comes off a huge win last start where Luke Dittman somehow got her through the tightest of tight gaps before she exploded to win just on the line. Looks to be flying and will enjoy the wet conditions today. Still has plenty of scope for improvement and she maps for a nice run throughout.
Rosehill Race 5
This will be the running of the inaugural ‘midway’ race and no surprises it’s a capacity field with the boosted prize money which has been put on offer. I liked (9) Our Bellagio Miss first up after some hot trials but think we might’ve just gone a run too early. Looks a perfect setup today sitting off the back of some hot speed and should improve massively 2nd up stepping out to 1100m. This is a step back in grade today and looks a great bet at the $3.50+.
(9) Our Bellagio Miss
$3.70
Flemington Race 6
Pretty hard to see them beating (2) Dice Roll who just continues to win since joining Nick Ryan from Honk Kong. This horse has been a revelation, winning three straight over 1400m since arriving here and now gets out to the mile where he has had success previously. He was 7 weeks between runs last time out where he powered through the line and looks hard to beat yet again. Only goes up 1kg off last start and should enjoy every favour from the perfect draw. Kersley knows the horse well having ridden the last two starts and I think he can make it four straight wins here.
Flemington Race 9
I’m going to give (11) Lindhout another chance here and while her pattern does not help her one bit, she continues to show ability and looks plenty good enough to win a race like this. Ran a huge 2nd yet again last start and now gets a 6kg swing in her favour from Don’ttelltheboss who won that race. She’ll be getting back from the gate and flashing home as usual but looks ready to win one. Yet to run a bad race in her career and I won’t be jumping off now.
