Horse Racing Tips: Friday, October 2nd
Moruya Race 3 (Market)
This really does look on paper to be a two-horse race between (1) El Magnificence and (5) Delacour where I do believe the one who has that dashing finish will come up trumps. I have gone with (5) Delacour here as I do believe he will have the upper hand against (1) El Magnificence. Our pick has drawn well to stalk (1) El Magnificence throughout the race and with the 4kg weight advantage, should be too sharp for him over the concluding stages. Our filly looks to have upside and although she is going for three straight wins up in grade, Norm Gardiner is a good judge and wouldn’t be putting her in this race if he didn’t think she was up for it.
Moruya Race 7 (Market)
This is a cracking edition of the Bateman’s Bay Cup and your getting almost $4.00 the field. I have gone with (7) All Tiara here as I think she can be prominent from barrier 7. She was not that far off at Nowra last start finishing third by just under a length and before that in much harder grade at Warwick Farm, she was taken back from the wide barrier but still managed to finish within two lengths of the winner. She is yet to miss a placing at Moruya, loves the mile, has a 3:2-0-1 record at this track and distance and gets a good track. She will be at peak fitness now and I believe she is overs in the market.
Dubbo Race 1 (Market)
This is quite a shallow staying race here and I have gone with (2) Dusktilldawn. He has run quite well over his last four runs with his two wins coming on good tracks. He is on the quick back-up which I think is ideal and gets a 2kg claim from Ronald Simpson which will come in handy towards the end of this contest. Simpson has ridden him before for success unlike his two rivals (1) Lucky Elixir and (5) Hallberg who both have jockeys who either have not ridden them or ridden them to victory. There is little pace in this race so it will not surprise me if the go forward due to the claim. He is definitely a chance to shake this race up.
Dubbo Race 7 (Market)
I am banking on (16) Rubic Honour getting a run here as second emergency as I think they would prefer this over the previous race, though I do think he is a winning chance in both. Since coming back from a break, he has been in terrific form, almost saluting at Scone first-up before making light work of his opposition last start at Tamworth. If he gets into this race, he is going to be well weighted with the 3kg claim of Dylan Gibbons. He has a benchmark rating of 56 and with the claim carries the same amount as a benchmark rating of 50, which is superb. He has drawn ideally out of the 2 and will stroll forward and be extremely hard to beat. Let’s hope he gets a run.
