Friday night racing takes place at Moonee Valley tonight and Trent Crebbin has highlighted four runners he's keen on throughout the night!
Horse Racing Tips: Friday, December 18th
Moonee Valley Race 1 (Market)
Keen to be with (1) Japery here, who looks well placed. He returned as a 3yo first up at Wangaratta and was far too good for a bm58 field, winning by 3L eased down. His form last prep was very good, culminating in a narrow 2nd placing to That Girl, who is a consistent Saturday metro mare. Riordan has options from barrier 6, and I think the two dangers in the market could set it up for Japery stalking the speed.
Moonee Valley Race 3 (Market)
If the favourite (3) Tycoon Bec brings what she did on debut, she’ll be very hard to run down here. She bolted in by 4.5L on that occasion and looks well placed to make it 2 from 2. She draws perfectly in barrier 4, gets a handy 3kg claim for Will Price, and looks to get a fairly easy lead on paper. If she finds the front comfortably, I think she’ll be far too good here.
Moonee Valley Race 4 (Market)
Very keen on (3) Real Feeling here. This filly has only had two career starts, but she’s got talent. She debuted over a year ago and wasn’t beaten far by star 2yo Hanseatic, before returning as a 3yo first up at Wodonga and blitzing her rivals by 4.3L. The second horse there, Grindelwald, was heavily backed into $1.75 and won his next start easily, suggesting the form is very strong. The 1200m will suit down to the ground and she draws to find the front easily from barrier 2. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her start in the red the way this market is trending, and she’s the best bet of the night.
Moonee Valley Race 7 (Market)
(12) Sayumi is another that looks very well placed here. She was electric first up at this T/D, coming from well off the speed to run down Real Gun, who has come out and bolted in at Caulfield since. She showed a devastating turn of foot that night, and a repeat of that performance should be winning this. If Ethan Brown can keep her off the fence and out of trouble, she should be finishing too well for these.
