Welcome to our horse racing preview and betting tips for racing on Friday, April 3rd.
We've got one of the biggest days on the Australian racing calendar this Saturday, with Day 1 of The Championships at Royal Randwick, but before then, we have some winners to find on the Australian racing on Friday! Luke Krahe has cast his eye over the meetings at Tamworth, Cranbourne and the Gold Coast and offered his best bets for each track below!

Horse Racing Tips: Friday, April 3rd
Tamworth Race 2 - (Market)
(1) Treble Clef gets his last chance with me here, he has had 9 starts and still a maiden but there is a lot to like about the last three. He placed here two starts back after a gun ride, he hit the front and would have traded low in the betting but was nabbed late. He then went to Coonamble and took on some winner in a Class 1 and maiden, he led for a long way and was only grabbed in the last few strides. He has the wide draw but should be going forward, I think he can get to the spot outside the leader and looks a great each-way bet to nothing.
(1) Treble Clef E/W
$5.50
Tamworth Race 4 - (Market)
(3) Brash is an interesting runner lining up for start number 4. He went across the border to Toowoomba (a long way from home at Scone) last start, was well back in the run on the rails before angling clear and storming home over the last furlong to go down by a length. Interesting to see that the tongue tie is added for the first time. He gets out to the 6 furlongs for the first time on the bigger track, he maps well to be mid-field and should be finishing as good as any. Happy to be right against (2) Raglan in this, currently quoted at around the $5 mark. He showed speed in Victoria at two starts, but goes from the Alderson yard to Gavin Groth at Gunnedah and draws the widest gate. If he doesn’t lead, he’s got none in my opinion.
Cranbourne Race 3 - (Market)
(3) Bonne Geisha debuted at Sandown back in the late Spring, she was well in the market and stuck on ok after over-racing. She was sent to the paddock and resumes off a 19-week break here. She jumped out at Caulfield recently and after jumping well, sat three-wide throughout. She responded when asked and got into second, the winner of that jump-out showed plenty of speed to lead in a BM64 recently and Bonne Geisha looked to have plenty up her sleeve. A replay of that jump-out can be found here.
Gold Coast Race 3- (Market)
Waller and Colless combine with (6) Endless River in this 1200m maiden. He debuted in Sydney before going to the paddock and finding a new home north of the border. He resumed at Toowoomna two weeks ago, after having 19-weeks off, began well and led clearly. The favourite/winner was urged along and eventually Colless took the option to take a sit and get off the rail and sit outside the speed. The two of them came about 5+ lengths clear into the straight and he just ran out of condition late. He comfortably ran second and with that run under his belt, the good gate and a maiden that looks no harder, he should be able to lead all the way. The main danger may be the Toby Edmonds trained resumer (7) Epplause, he has been gelded and trialed well but from the wide gate fresh I think he will be giving our selection a big start. Watch the betting post-scratching's as I think Endless Ricer will be heavily backed.
