We’re starting to kick into rhythm now with the weekly Wednesday night meetings at Happy Valley. Tonight’s card is no less exciting than recent editions, but I’ve found a few at bigger prices than in recent weeks. If we can jag one at e/w odds tonight could turn out very well.
Blake Lalor brings you his preview and Happy Valley racing tips for Wednesday night. Check out his best bets of the card below!
Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wednesday, November 30th
Race 3
(11) Wonder Years will appreciate getting out to the 2200m this time after running well over 1800m in his last few starts. The wide draw shouldn’t be a major concern as the horse will settle towards the rear but should have every opportunity to work into the race at the right time given it’s 2200m. Expecting this horse to win or go very close.
(8) Bright Kid ran 2nd last time over 1800m and was game in defeat losing by only 0.1L. First time trying this trip but is drawn well and only needs to repeat last start’s performance to be right in the finish.
(7) Amazing Boy is overpriced in this market for mine. He’s got a solid record having won over 2200m previously and although he hasn’t been great in his last few over 1650m, this trip should be far more suitable. Fitness at the end might be a slight query but good e/w chance.
(4) Vincy has the advantage of the new king of the valley aboard in Zac Purton here. He’s a reliable stayer who rarely runs poorly over these trips. He’s an 8yo now which is the reason I’m less confident in him being able to win these days, but he must always be in considerations for the top selections.
(11) Wonder Years Each-Way

Race 5
(9) Rattan Kingdom will be far better suited this time in gate 4 against what looks a weak field on face value compared to this horse’s last 2 attempts where he’s been runner up from tougher draws. Deserving of a win and gets it tonight.
(6) Hardly Swears ran very well 2 starts ago in a strong race. He was less encouraging last time but drew wide and had to work hard before finishing 7th. Gate 2 tonight is far more suitable and I’m expecting a performance similar to his 3rd placing a few starts back.
(1) Flaming Passion should also appreciate a better barrier draw this time in and should be in the finish. He hasn’t been racing superbly of late but was good enough last start so suggest he’ll be thereabouts this time.
(2) Harmony N Home is the best at odds here and would be single figures if not for the horror draw in gate 11. If apprentice jockey Angus Chung can find a spot and get a soft run from out wide this horse can win.
(9) Rattan Kingdom Win
$2.10 (1 Unit)
Race 8
(6) Intrepid Winner is completely capable of winning again after doing so last time from a wide gate at double figure odds. No reason for me to lose faith in him this time over the same trip from a better gate with Harry Bentley retaining the ride.
(5) Comet Splendido gets in super here with the 4.5kg claim of Angus Chung. From gate 1 he should have every possible chance to win here but is well found in the market.
(2) Nearly Fine will have to overcome a huge weight and poor weight swing against Comet Splendido to turn the tables on him but on recent form should be making up the placings or top 4 even if he’s not capable of winning this.
(1) Tianchi Monster drops in class here and gets up to 1800m so should improve significantly off his last few runs. Finished just 0.8L off the winner last time over 1650m and was coming late so looks well suited here albeit from a slightly tricky gate.
(6) Intrepid Winner Each-Way
