Check our our Happy Valley racing tips below!
Happy Valley Racing Tips: Thursday January 4th
Race 1: Lark Hcp (C4) - 1200m (21:10 AEST)
(1) Golden Long is going to be hard to beat here given his debut performance blitzing his rivals comfortably. Expect improvement from that given he’s now 2nd up. It’ll take something good to beat him.
(5) Beauty Infinity is a bit of a hard one to read given the way he was ridden on debut. That said, he’s got a huge task ahead to beat this favourite and would need to leverage his barrier advantage to do so.
(4) Triumphant Warrior went a huge race on debut despite the market completely misisng him. This is rare in Hong Kong but the market is keeping him safe this time around.
(1) Golden Long win
$2.60 (2 units)
Race 6: Nightjar Hcp (C3) - 1650m (23:45 AEST)
(11) M Unicorn goes up in class here and gets down to 52.5kg. He’s on a tear at the moment and strikes a winnable C3 race. Drawn well, should salute with even luck.
(4) Gallant Waking will be a long way back from gate 10 and might require some luck or unanticipated speed in the race to feature but he’s in good form at the moment and is as close to a win as he’s ever been.
(7) Thesis has run 2nd and 4th in his 2 attempts since resuming. That’s a good sign for his 3rd up run here. Hard to trust completely but headed in the right direction.
(11) M Unicorn win
$3.25 (2 units)
Race 8: Albatross Hcp (C2) - 1200m (00:50 AEST)
(2) Son Pak Fu had a more interrupted race than Howdeepisyourlove last start when they met and went straight past him in the straight for a comfortable victory. They meet again here and this horse still has the advantage for mine.
(1) Howdeepisyourlove is the 2nd pick and it should be close between these 2 given how they went last start finishing 1st and 3rd.
(9) Winning Icey is an absolute specimen and has performed well fresh before. Has a light weight and should be able to capitalise here at an e/w price to at least be in the finish.
(2) Son Pak Fu win
$4.00 (1 unit)
