Dry tracks continue as the rain holds out a little while longer in New South Wales. The grass at Gosford should come up a treat on Wednesday which has us looking forward to a fair track pattern and hopefully finding some winners!
Blake Lalor brings us his best bets and racing tips for Wednesday's action from Gosford.
Gosford Racing Tips: Wednesday November 30th
Race 2
(1) Fashion Legend was unimpressive to the eye 1st up after trialling exceptionally and going out last preparation in decent form. He did run 3rd to Shadow Vampire last time who looks a talented horse after winning in bm68 company at Warwick Farm since. Good gate for this horse and experienced jockey aboard.
(2) My Eloise was a winner 1st up after promising a lot from her lead up trials. Was odds on there to salute and did so giving no indication she can’t win again. Has early tactical speed in a race which looks to lack just that so expect her to get a nice run on speed and be hard to beat after Impressiero saluted to strengthen My Eloise’s maiden form.
(4) Lucky Variety also won impressively last time launching a huge run from back in the field to salute down the middle of the track here at Gosford. Extra 100m but maybe rinse and repeat apart from that?
(3) Summer In Siam wasn’t expected to perform as well as he did on debut (at least by the market) but he was able to break his maiden and earn his spot in C1 this time. Doesn’t look as promising as others in this race yet but draws well here with a 2kg claimer engaged so could change that opinion very quickly and begin a winning streak.
(1) Fashion Legend Win
$4.00 (1 Unit)
Race 3
(4) Lady Superspy brings some appealing form into this race from last prep ending it with a string of 3 placings and 1 win. Plenty of winners have come out of all of those runs last prep including Karmazone and Burning Need who beat her in her final run before the spell. 8th on paper looks poor 1st up but she had no room to move and will appreciate the added trip and wider gate this time in.
(2) Shaka Rock has poor dry track form but went alright behind Awesome Lad last time in a small field at big odds. 3kg claimer helps too so he’s got to be a chance against easier competition.
(3) Noble Cause has won 2 on the trot and is looking to make that 3. Also has a 3kg claimer engaged which helps his cause but similarly to Shaka Rock has poor form on dry tracks. Bigger chance if rain comes but should run ok regardless.
(4) Lady Superspy Each-Way
$6.00/$2.20 (0.5 Units)
Race 5
(2) Morean showed great tractability in her recent trials responding under riding and relaxing under a hold. Her form from Melbourne is strong behind horses including Belle Savoir and Commands The Field and she’ll get a good run from gate 4 with Brenton Avdulla taking the ride.
(6) Lovero produced a big win by 2.5L to beat Mr Wallace who’s the likely favourite in race 4. If Mr Wallace salutes it’ll bolster this mare’s chances which already look good with tactical speed and gate 1 to camp on the rails and get the gun run.
(1) Glacier Queen is 1st up here and trialled well enough to suggest she can run well. She ended last prep 5L off Shades Of Rose at Rosehill and comes back in grade to tackle this. Might get found out with 61.5kg 1st up but is some chance.
(2) Morean Each-Way
$7.10/$2.20 (0.5 Units)
Race 6
(10) Doubtless Lady has good ability in my opinion. I was with her on debut at big odds and she didn’t disappoint. She’ll be better now for that run and meets a field scattered with debutants who may just be lacking the experience and fitness 1st up. Senior jockey aboard from a good gate makes this a confident pick for me at each-way odds.
(1) Amor Victorious is one of my top picks from the unraced horses in this event. He’s a good each-way price, is drawn well and has trialled nicely including running 2nd to American President. Expecting a nice performance from this gelding on debut.
(4) Country Blues has had a total of 5 trials to prepare him for his debut here and is in very astute hands with the Waterhouse and Bott combination. Expect him to settle in the lead or handy from gate 3 and give a good sight.
(5) Fast Response is another from the Freedman stable who has had a run under his belt from which he could find improvement. Ovoid comes out of the same race and looks a good chance in race 3 so his performance earlier on the day could be used as a guide.
(10) Doubtless Lady Each-Way
