Flemington will host racegoers on what will be a day for the passionate racegoer with the Melbourne weather predicted to be a cold 11 degrees. Race 1 will start at 11:55am (AEST) with the last of nine finishing at 4:40pm (AEST). There hasn’t been much rain around again this week and the track will be around the Soft5 range for the Winter Championship Finals. After a great day out last weekend with 3 from 3 scoring, we are hoping a couple of the below selections can win again!

Race 2: Banjo Patterson Series Final - 12:30pm (AEST)
(3) Berkshire Breeze looked really good when winning by 4.75L at this track last start. He’s an on pace runner and has since won a trial at Stawell. He can handle the Soft and he may even try and lead all of the way in this. He rises another 100m in distance but this doesn’t look to be an issue and some good pundits think he may have a Spring race in him, something like Country Cup.
(2) Aberfeldie Boy had no luck last time so if we forgive that run, he comes into this with a big hope. He is probably fitter than the fav and he should be running top three with this being his 5th run this time in.
(4) Taramansour goes better on the Dry tracks which is the worry and he is another one who is fully wound up now. He doesn’t usually run great here but I’m counting on his residual fitness to get him through.

Race 8: VRC-CRV Winter Championship Series Final - 4:10pm (AEST)
(2) Duke De Sessa is resuming and did win a trial a fortnight ago at Bendigo on a Soft 5. He is proven in this company and the track should be right for his long sustained powerful finish. He may get too far back which is an issue but an Each-Way play should be a safe bet. He has recently been gelded and his first up record is pretty good. Barrier 12 looks bad on paper but he will calm out casually and get back anyway.
(1) Munhamek gets back and also runs on in his races. He won the Swan Hill Cup and then backed that up with a win here. No signs of slowing down yet.
(4) Pounding will get a few favours out in front and conditions suit. If we do get rain on the day which is unlikely then it's a No bet. He has never missed a top 3 finish here and

Race 9: Creswick Sprint Series Final - 4:40pm (AEST)
(12) Pharari got backed off the map and smashed them at Ballarat last time and she looks like one to follow. She has won on the Soft before and one of his wins were in city class time. He settled in the “one-one” at Ballarat and may settle in the same position here. He drops 3kg in weight and doesn’t have to worry about a Heavy track. Ethan Brown is 2 from 2 on top and stays on.
(9) Right to Party ran on very well to score at this track last time and will try the same tactics here you would think. The 1200m suits and he almost scored in Group company at Morphettville two starts back too.
(5) Prinzerro was backed late last start and ran a good 2nd at this track. He will be big odds here but may get a cushy run from barrier 1. Has placed here twice and can place again at a big quote if he doesn't get trapped in.
